Bouchard will commit turnover like any young D-man, but if you wish to give up on him we would take a chance (Puljujarvi too if needed btw) cuz we have a coach who knows how to teach them the game. Maybe I was harsh. Grittiness obviously serves a purpose, but he has to have better underlying numbers for acquiring him at anywhere near the price Montreal is likely asking. I'm sure his numbers would improve greatly under limited quality of competition but that's not what they need. They need a solid guy to play with Nurse, someone not necessarily flashy but can make breakouts, while limiting quality chances on net (Chychrun, Mccabe, Gudas and Ekholm). Deharnais can be that gritty guy without them having to trade a 1st.

Edmundson shoulder and stick can clean the net, he also block a shotload of shots, cut pass line and make a good first pass but need a supportive transition d-man wich we lack !
