      This sucks.
I wish we kept him and played him rather than turn this whole situation into a ****show.

Clearly the Wings didn't want him and he didn't want to be there. He looked absolutely terrible when in the lineup with Detroit. Can't blame Yzerman for getting rid of a guy that was negatively impacting the culture of the team. Sucks that he didn't reach his potential but the return on that trade with Washington is still far better then Mantha.

laugh laugh What in the hell is Yzerman thinking? Yzerman retains 50% on Vrana for a pending UFA in McLaughlin and a garbage 7th round pick 3 drafts from now. Talking about a steal for St Louis. Hard to believe that this was the best offer for Vrana.

you have no idea what his impact was.

we should be careful in these situations when talking about a relatively unknown scenario

      I know I know.
But I just wish we gave him more of a shot. Everyone knows that it takes a minute to find your footing in the NHL, and we never even gave him the opportunity.

False. Bertuzzi included a 1st and a pick, very similar to what was expected.

This Vrana trade sucks though - big time.

We are not privy to what happened with him. I am assuming that the trust between the player and the organization was lost and that is hard to come back from. You can only give a guy so many chances. I think the relationship turned sour when the Wings wanted him to get offseason surgery a few years ago and he refused then hurt that injuried shoulder and missed the majority of the season. The guy has potential but just wasn't a fit anymore.

That is true we don't know what happened but when the coach is saying he needs to clean up his game and he is giving very little visible effort when finally given a shot for a team that is trying to make the playoffs that is going to negatively impact the locker room.

Yzerman clearing cap for a bigger move? No reason to really retain for another year unless he has something bigger planned.

Stevie and Army sure like making trades together. I guess we owe them for Walman. Good move for the Blues. Good luck to Vrana. I'm sad it didn't work out in Detroit.

Not me. I said he had no value right now and wouldn't be traded. I said he'd be bought out many times.

I agree, There's been a few rumblings of either Karlsson or Parayko as the potential targets. I really i don't want either. We'll find out in the next 4 hours and 15 minutes.

No one here said that Vrana would get a 1st, His value is in the toilet right now.
