The rebuilding Red Wings aren't trading two young players they developed who fit their timeline AND a 3rd round pick for an old guy.

You didn't even put Veleno in the lineup so why acquire him?

Dont hate it. Like Compher and the effort to retool the D. Revamping the D is a must if we want to compete

Pens window is all but closed. Crosby and Malkin in the twilight of their careers.

Current Pens remind me of the Red Wings around 2013-2014. Much like when Zetterberg and Datsyuk were in the twilight of their careers. Still a playoff team but struggling to get in and will make very little noise once there. The prospect cupboard is bare. Oldest roster in the NHL. Making dumb moves like Granlund just to try and get in the playoffs when they need to be thinking future. Much like the Red Wings trading for Erik Cole and David Legwand. The end of the good years are near and a painful rebuild is inevitable.

So no. We are not trading two good young players and a pick for your old overpriced Dman...

Insanely hard pass from Detroit and it's not even close. Detroit doesn't want Petry for free and Ras is damn near untouchable unless someone MASSIVELY overpays for him.

I'm sorry but Petry's value isn't close to that, Pittsburgh gave up a cap dump and a 4th for him and Poehling. At 35 with a $6.25M cap hit for the next 2 seasons and this will be his 3rd season in a row of not hitting the 70 game mark.
