you wont get jarry for less than 5 million.

You probably could get talbot for that.

Kenny would be foolish to add Jarry. Even at that price. You're trying to win, not just get by. There are better options if Campbell is able to be moved (unlikely).

Detroit will MAYBE give you a 6th for Ceci at best, as a favor to Holland IF we strike out in FA on RHD... Ceci is a neutral asset at best and a borderline cap dump...

Jarry has been very average. Who is gonna give him $5M?? I thought I was being generous by going 3 years

I think Ceci is a decent player just playing top minutes when he's a #4/5 guy. I think he could be a decent partner for Edvinsson to help him get his footing. That said I would take him for as little as possible.

Lol don't want Campbell now? I wouldn't do the Chicago trade and I love the idea of getting cap dumps lol

That's fair... maybe I'm underselling him too much...

He started the season really good even playing top pair, but as the season wore on he was showing why he isn't a top pair guy. Play him with Maatta or Edvinsson on the third pair would be good. I wouldn't mind if this was the defence for this season.
    Walman - Seider
    Maatta - Myers
    Edvinsson - Ceci
Eventually I would expect that third pair to over take the second pair. That said I wonder if Tuomisto gets a shot this year after signing? Also I know Chiarot would need to getting games in, if we didn't get Myers he could be put there.

Correction: *3 goals got called back last night against Campbell. He let in 7 goals technically. I was there and it was hard to watch him.

At least a buyout is pretty reasonable (1.5 million cap penalty) because trading him we be impossible

Additionally, I think Mayfield will want more money than that, why not just keep Ceci? He's been one of our most reliable dmen this season and last.

Yeah I changed my mind almost instantly. I forgot how long that Campbell contract was.

Hawks might consider this. Campbell's contract is horrible but what is essentially two 1st's might be worth it

If Kyle Davidson's plan is to build strictly through drafting and development, I could see him accepting that as payment for a Campbell cap dump. But all of the cap dumps he has taken on, so far, have only been through the 23-24 season. Which leads me to believe he doesn't want to take on long term cap dumps and is probably planning on using our cap space to dip into free agency over the next few summers. If that is the case, I don't think he would want to take on such a big contract with that much term.

I think a lot of that hinges on whether CHI gets the 1st overall pick in the 2023 draft. If CHI does get Bedard, they will probably want to speed things up a bit and bring in talent around him right away and also leave cap space to give him a big payday in 3 years when his ELC is up. If they don't get him they will probably continue tanking one or two more seasons and have the flexibility to take on some more cap dumps. Regardless, I think that is in the ballpark of a fair price for dumping that Campbell contract. So, we'll just have to wait and see.

He's not a cap dump. He's playing the 3rd hardest minutes in the league and holding his own. For just $3.25M, that's a fantastic deal. I don't think Edmonton moves him unless it's in a deal for an upgrade (Karlsson, for example). He's providing too much value per dollar to move otherwise.
