Can someone clarify something for me.

Does Boston have up to 5 million dollars of cap penalties coming for 2023-24 due to performance bonuses?

I'm getting a mixed bag of answers. Some say yes, the performance bonuses from this year will go to the next year. But at the same time, if I've understood correctly the CBA, performance bonuses are to be paid on the contract year they were issued for, and teams are allowed to go over the salary cap by 7,5% a season in order to pay those up. There would only be a carryover for next year for the amount that goes over the 7,5% threshold, which would mean that Bruins have been able to pay up their performance bonuses this year already, and have no performance bonuses carryovers to pay in 2023-24.

Does someone have a definitive answer here?

Assuming this is accurate. But I think due too BOS being on LTIR they have the full cap penalty for next year

I would just wait until CF tweets out their overages, they'll do it eventually

Yeah, it just kinda f*cks with the ACGMs. Can't have any firm knowledge as to how much cap they actually have. 4,5 mil is such a considerable amount after all.

Avs offseason should be

Trade Girard to make some more cap room (Can target a 2c)

Trade for Hellybuyck (If WPG decides blow it up)

Add depth

As in that playoffs man I feel it was 99% MacKinnon and Rantanen 1% everyone else

They should get some good depth, add a better goaltender, and hope Landeskog comes back

Who do we think raised their Draft Stock most at WJC U-18?

For me Perreault and Stenberg raised theirs most, but Leonard solidfied himself in my Top 8.

I was high on Stenberg for a while very happy about his tourney so talented and does so much.

maybe not raised stock, but Dvorsky solidified himself a top 10 spot

A friendly reminder that in exactly 7 days and as long as Gary Betman rambles, Connor Bedard will be picking which number his Blues jersey will have.

If Bergeron and Krejci retire, do the Bruins kickstart a rebuild or do they try to find replacements (This is definitely not me finding a landing spot for JT Miller)

They’ll try and find replacement, McAvoy, Pasta, Swayman, Ullmark, Hall + as a core is too good to tank

JT Miller + Ethan Bear for Brandon Carlo + Fabian Lysell

Who says no?

Yeah you probably all hate Miller yadda yadda but he could be a center option to keep the Bruins contention window open. Bruins get Ethan Bear back which slightly mitigates them losing Carlo. Ethan Bear is very underrated and I think he is a good #4, or #5 on a contender
