Sure. CGY’ll make it work

Would you accept Vladar + Gilbert + DeSimone for Olofsson 50% Retained + Luukkonen instead!?

Has Levi said whether he’s turning Pro Full-Time or returning to College!?

This is probably very accurate minus the bertuzzi signing

Think the Hawks would want just a touch more (maybe a 4th or a forward prospect like Nadeau) and Buffalo should have that pick be top 10 protected.

Buffalo gets a legitimate partner for Owen Power and remains healthy there is almost no way that pick lands in the top 10 anyway.

Hawks accept. That's a fair return for Murphy w/ no retention.

I agree that the most likely scenario is buffalo makes the playoffs and the first is mediocre which is why a slight add of a midround pick or prospect would be nice and the trade off of some minimal protection in the event injuries pile up and derail the season for the Sabres

Murphy makes the most sense to me on who the Sabres should target first - he's on a favorable contract for next 3 years that won't hurt Buffalo's cap situation as they try to lock up the rest of their young core; he plays the right side and is the physical, shot-blocking, defensive-minded type they lack yet is also a good enough skater with size to work within Granato's system; he played 1-1/2 seasons under Granato so there's familiarity; and he's become a locker room leader in Chicago who embraces mentoring younger players. All that said, he seems to love playing in Chicago and is marrying a Chicago-born woman this summer - so, with a M-NTC, he may have power to veto a trade if he wants to. It's also a question if the Hawks want to keep him and Jones as the older vets to teach the youth they're filling the roster with.

Huh? I think you're about a month behind the times - Levi signed his pro contract in mid-March and immediately proved he's NHL ready and capable of becoming a starter soon.

Once you sign an NHL contract, you cannot return to school. Its either AHL or NHL for him. And no we would not do the trade you proposed. If you want a 25 goal scorer, we want a 2nd or 3rd

Levi won five of seven at the end of the year and was very solid. Vladar is an interesting offer as the Sabres may want a more experienced backup. Gilbert is a local kid and would add as a 6/7 D with size.

This is very accurate and I think it would be interesting to see if a serious offer does come from BUF for Murphy.
