The one it factor between VGK and FLA is Bob

If Bob plays like he did in the Boston series VGK in 6

If he plays like he did vs Carolina and Toronto Florida has a shot but then again playoff Eichel has been scary

Playoff Matthew Tkachuk would like a word.

I got a feeling hes gonna have difficulty with the VGK 4th line

That lines been a menace all playoffs and those 3 are tough SOB's

Like Carolina didnt have that to go against him which allowed him to thrive.

I thought the same thing with Jordan Staal entering the ECF but he put that concern to bed early. I agree with you though.

It's always tough to compare things at this point in the playoffs because you don't have to be the best at something on paper, but you've managed to be final 2 or final 4, so I mean is it actually as bad as we make it out to be? Or are the teams who were supposedly juggernauts actually that good because they got knocked out early? That's why it can be tough debating sometimes.

I'll say this though. You could argue Vegas' goaltending is the worst that Florida has faced, but it could be close to the Leafs. Obviously this season Boston and Carolina were both pretty far ahead of the pack in terms of their blueline on paper, and their defensive stats. But you have to give Vegas a lot of credit. While Vegas is absolutely loaded on paper at every position, their goaltending being shaky means, I think, that Vegas' defense and defensive game deserves even more credit.

Again, obviously you get this deep and the best teams deserve to be here. But I think this will be Florida's toughest challenge yet. Vegas' chemistry and puck movement was something to behold against Dallas, and the level they played at in that regard was much higher than any of the three teams Florida faced so far. And Vegas has protected the house much better than Boston, Toronto or Carolina.

It's so hard for me to call. Will Adin Hill still hold up? How world beating will Bobrovsky be? Will Florida's offensive depth be an issue?

Both Vegas and Florida have been elite on the road, whether it's in the regular season or playoffs. I think it goes 6-7 games no question.

Staal doesnt have that bite to deal with rats.

Those 3 VGK 4th liners man they combine all the aspects you want and are gritty tough SOB's

Like look at Kolesar that man was running around smashing people, Roy is just a solid 2-way guy, and Carrier is like solid 2-way wing. Its just a recipe that works. EDM, Dallas, WPG all tangled with it and it did not end well a lot of the time

Carolina needs some tough guys in the lineup as they got skill but dont got the guys to handle someone like Tkachuck.

But yea this probs goes 6 to 7 games

Idk what you have against Tkachuk but it’s kind of insane to think the best non Mcdavid player in the world right now is going to have trouble against a 4th line.

Tkachuk is having one of the best playoff runs out of any forward in NHL history.

Theres nothing against him stop being such as Tkachuck homer lul

Teams will always make lines to stop elite players. If FLA gonna heavily rely on him, Cassidy gonna make a line to shut him down

Like look at Carrier-Roy-Kolesar 3 big guys who Cassidy put out against other teams top lines like EDM, WPG and DAL and its worked out well for Dallas. Would not surprise me if he goes to them again. If not we may see the Eichel line but I feel that lines gonna go up against FLA's 3rd line.

Thats just how hockey works.

My judgement isn’t clouded by anything. The numbers don’t lie. You won’t find a more clutch forward playoff performance in the last decade.

The thing with Tkachuk is he’s a superstar grinder, he can play any way and adapt to what’s given to him/thrown at him. Similar to Crosby in that respect.

If Matthews scored 4 game winning goals in a playoff run there would be a statue outside of the arena

Rooting for Vegas, for 3 reasons:

1) They beat Dallas. Always a great consolation prize to lose to a would-be cup winner.

2) Can't have a former President's Trophy winner to become a cup winner a year later, as that has been a thing as of late. I mean...

- 2018-19 TB won President's trophy, won the Cup in 2019-20
- 2019-20 was the covid year, results are invalid awesome face
- 2020-21 Colorado won the President's trophy, won the Cup in 2021-22
- 2021-22 Florida Panthers won the President's trophy, winning the Cup in 2022-23?

2022-23 Boston Bruins won the President's trophy...I can't have Boston winning the cup in 2023-24. I hate 'em

3) As a brother of a Tampa fan it wouldn't do to root for a rival team. That being said, FLA winning it would be such a joke after the regular season they had...it'd be kinda hilarious.

Caps also won presidents trophy in 2017 then cup in 2018.

Nah hes perfect next to Eichel and when he and Smith are with Karlsson its one of the best lines seen in the NHL
