Easy no thanks from the Rangers. Don't need a $2.2m/year back up goalie or Rooney.

Way to make a fool of yourself. Wolf isn't worth close to the 5th overall.

What’s the MVP = #1 Overall Player in the AHL Worth!?

Does MTL need another Forward or do they need a Franchise Goaltender more!?

Careful with your answer, so not to make a fool of yourself

So you do need a backup, right!?

And who’d be better at 4C exactly!?

Hint: Under $8mil for a Goalie Tandem is not a lot and unless you can name a UFA who will sign in NYR, they don’t have a better 4C on their roster right now

I don't like the idea of trading wolf. Montreal fans probably feel the same way about their 5th. That being said, if they flames ever were allowed to rebuild, getting a center in the top 5 of this draft would be a good start.

If it was me, I wouldn’t do it if I were MTL either, but what if and what is Wolf really worth is the question

I’m simply suggesting selling high in Goalies because I’m that guy who feels Goalie Values fluctuate and Wolf’s can’t get any higher imo

Johansson, Domingue and Sawchenko are all good NHL Goalies too and if we could improve our Defence, Energy and Scoring, I think those Goalies would all do just fine

Besides, we’re committed to Markstrom and he should rebound next season, he’s still a very skilled & talented stud Goaltender. That doesn’t just disappear unless there’s underlying injury issues we’re not aware of

Well, Kaapo Kahkonen was traded for freakin JACOB MIDDLETON.

Maybe offer Wolf to LA, and you could get in return TWO TIMES AHL MVP TJ TYNAN !!!! LOL

Best comment by you for me ever

We’re going to have replace Lindholm at 1C eventually, if we can draft that guy ourselves, it’d be ideal

Not sure Zary has that type of ceiling tbh

LOL. First off, they have Halak at $1.5m/season who will re-sign but they may not be able to afford even that. They also have Domingue in Hartford. Second, as much as I liked Rooney as a Ranger, he is no where near as good as Goodrow and is way over paid for what he does at $1.3m. If they trade or buy our Goodrow, they can find better than Rooney for less. Rooney was so good for the Flames he played a whole 17 games this year and was a healthy scratch. You can keep them both.

What a lame comment, talk about making yourself a fool

We’re Talking Lottery, Probability, Gambling and Chance here

You’re talking about a Team in desperation who valued a big defensemen

Are you saying you’d prefer to Trade for Kahkonen!?

He’ll cost you a mid-to-late 2nd or early early 3rd, but he’ll also be 3x times the Cap Hit and doesn’t have the hype and projected ceiling Wolf has right now

MTL picked Price 5th Overall, so I could see this being reasonable and happening. Maybe CGY sends a Sweetener back, but Wolf is the Man right now 🐺

I mean if you want to out all your eggs in to those baskets if Shesterkin goes down, than sure, I mean go ahead

My bad on Goodrow, I forgot he could slide over to Centre, was just trying to balance out the Trade and figured of any obey, NYR would be interested in taking Rooney, especially to bolster their bottom-6 and grit

The reality is...Wolf has more value for CGY than for any other team in the league. I can't blame CGY for not letting him go for cheap. But the notion that he's worth anywhere close to a #5 pick overall, in a pretty strong draft, is just absurd.

Dustin Wolf is in the same class as Devon Levi; smaller stature goaltender, with good resume outside of the NHL, and intriguing upside. Levi got traded, along WITH a 1st round pick to get Sam Reinhart who, at the time, seemed to have peaked as a 55-60 points player in Buffalo, and was looking for a hefty pay raise. This is your value of reference, right there.

*sight* No Kahkonen was voted AHL's top goaltender for 2019-20.... See how AHL award winners don't have the high value you give them?!?

Since you don't seem to no much about the AHL, I'll ask you an easier one:

Name any player in the history of the AHL Les Cunningham MVP AWARD, not named Spezza, who was worth a top 15 pick.

I'll wait for your answer. I wouid recommend: "Jeez, being the AHL MVP isn't worth ****! I was waaay too hyped."

Again, I could see it happening, just wondering what other ppl think. He’s definitely worth a 1st of some kind AFAIC

Most AHL MVP’s are older players, so don’t compare. Thiat really makes my point stronger = the fact Wolf won it as a Prospect

Kahkonen can’t be compared, since he wasn’t Traded after Winning the AHL MVP and didn’t have near the hype, so thanks for playing, please play again

Look at you avoiding my question in bold. I said I would wait, so I'm still waiting...

Again, Name just one AHL MVP winner, since 1947, worth a top 15 pick.

Me first: Spezza. Your turn!

Dustin Wolf? I dont think so...

Yeah, but he was also 7-years into his pro career, and a bit of a disapointment overall (far from being a bust, but not the point-producing core forward BUF expected when they took him at #2). You can't justify a players value on draft ranking...if that was the case, Wolf's value would be a 7th round pick. wink

I can see why CGY would put a 1st round pick (probably mid-to-late) value on Wolf. Like I said, they have no reason to trade him for less than what they're valuing him at. But from the outside, Wolf is an intriguing, yet unproven (at the NHL level) small stature goalie, who performed above expectations thus far, but still isn't a sure shot. So he's a lottery ticket at this point. An interesting one, but still a lottery ticket. If I were to guess, I would say teams looking for a goaltender would probably give him a mid-2nd value at most. Which is why CGY should (and probably will) keep him.

Doubling down on the crazy take I see.

Me too. If you want to trade Wolf, go see LA and you might be able to get 2 times AHL MVP TJ TYNAN, because you are not getting anything close to a 1st rounder.

Yup, that’s all it is, a lottery

Maybe Wolf ends up playing better than Reinhart who went for 2nd overall

Personally, I don’t care, this isn’t my hill to die on, I just think we should sell high in Vladar is all and I think his value is the highest it will ever be right now = this off-season, especially if the Wranglers win it all
