I mean, I want to say yes because I like both players being brought in, but these are definitely both overpays. Schmidt especially since he is considered almost a cap dump by many. He could probably be had for a 3rd, or a straight up swap for Peeke.

Hertl is harder to gauge because he just signed that extension so SJS may be reluctant to deal him, and who knows how it will age. He would be a massive upgrade for CBJ at center ice, but hopefully they could get him without giving up Sillinger. Maybe the 1st, Boqvist and Ros?

I also think I'd rather have Carlsson than Smith, but it's close. My dream scenario I'm praying for is Michkov at 2 so we can get Fantilli.
