Columbus continues not to be interested in Murray. Their goalies are, for better or worse, set for next season. Someone else will probably want him for that.

No thanks. Nylander is ten-ply soft. You guys can keep him.

Was never his job to be a power forward.

I'd accept "not afraid of puck battles" but that doesn't apply to him either.

Murray Buyout is around 650k for year 1 and 2m for year 2. Columbus should easily accept the deal proposed here, regardless if they plan on using him or buying him out.

Nylander will be traded, but I think it's more out of fear trying to resign him (he'll demand $10 million + AAV, though probably end up in the $9 million range).

Plus Nylander's as trade bait, even as a potential 1 year rental, will get the Leafs a good 1st Rd pick, a mid Rd pick and maybe a roster player.

Lol. I'll give you that at least this wasn't another Matthews trade, but that's about all this has going for it.

No. Just absolutely no. And that's just looking at the players. I don't want Nylander's perimeter play anywhere near the Kings, and Brodie is a net loss from Roy. Not to mention I'll take Kaliyev over the injury-maligned Robertson every day of the week.

In addition, that's nearly net 7mil being dumped to LA when looking at it from purely the cap implication perspective. Why would the Kings agree to that, and where would they get the cap space?

Arvidsson and the future second for Brodie has some appeal. We don't need an expensive rental forward or a LW prospect well behind the 4 or 5 we have already. Any new cap not spent on LhD has to be put towards goal. (The offer as presented would preclude us from signing a starting goaltender, as my friend @PuckLuck_77 says.)

I'd much rather have Fiala and Kempe, and the Kings can't afford another top-line salaried winger.

Calling nylander a perimiter player is probably the funniest part of this

With how much Tarasov struggled at the end of the season having Murray as a 3rd option isn’t the worst idea and we have the cap room to add him and put him in the AHL and upgrade the D core.

I just wouldn’t want to move the full return for Bjorkstrand to get a cap dump and a 1st.

Great, then we're in agreement. Each team will keep their own players.

I’d buy Murray out for a 1st. Maybe add Bemstrom instead of the 3rd or something, but I’m down. Only issue is his NTC. On one hand, it’s get him to UFA a year earlier, so he can pick his situation. On the other hand, it’s at the cost of 1/3 of his salary.

Jarmo’s been using the “weaponize the cap” line for so long, about time he actually did it.

I don't believe for a second he'll do it. Ownership won't go for that. It's still remarkable they did it for Quick this year.
