Unpopular opinion, but this is so ridiculous that Chicago should consider it.

More concerned with the Chicago perspective here.

I mean. Chi probably considers this. When I opened the thread I was not expecting to look at a reasonable offer. Kudos

Despite the loss of high end guys, the team is nowhere near as bad as I thought it’d be.

Yeah. And no way NY goes into the season with 10MM in cap room. They would add one or two more pieces.

Yeah probably. Plus this move forces them to improve 5 on 5 if they want to be successful and be less powerplay and goaltending reliant. Forces them to improve their overall game, which should translate to better success in the playoffs when things get tight.

True. Now the real question is would NY do this? If they do and Bedard is more Panerin than Crosby (great not amazing), many heads will roll in the big apple.

Oh for sure. No shot they’d do it for that reason alone. Plus if it didn’t work it’d be a complete tear down at that point. Plus I’m super skeptical of our ability to develop forwards regardless of how good they are projected to be.

But, if it did work and Bedard is the next Crosby....
That's why it's a good offer.

The best trades are a risk that usually end up ruining one side or the other. This could be that rare trade that benefits both teams.

If nothing else it's very interesting.

The only problem is they literally are adding all that to nothing. They'd just be a worse NYR haha.

I agree if anything this is bad for the Rangers. The next Lindros trade.

Even if he is the next crosby, crosby had a team to play with in letang, fluery, malkin, staal, and a solid core of vets until those guys became the vets. This rangers team would be more like McDavid without Drysaitl.

Guess we’re ignoring Senko, Kreider, Trocheck, Goodrow, Fast, Kakko, Chytil and Othmann and a 3C who could be signed with the extra cap room. Only concern would be defense, top 6 is pretty good, but no superstar puck mover. Honestly this entire this was just for fun anyway.

I liked the post for fun. Love seeing "untouchables" get touched. Just jumped in on the crosby conversation. The star dman and goaltending are definately more oilers then pens imo. 2015 oilers had some nice forwards too just didnt pan out.

Finally, someone understands what it would take to get the #1 pick, this is similar to the Lindros haul minus the 15Mill (I think it was 15mill - going off memory). I'm a Hawks fan and I submitted a trade proposal on here except with the Canucks and was laughed off.....of course, a trade like this is likely never to happen again. If were the Hawks GM though, I'd be intrigued by this offer for sure.
