If anaheim was presented that package and turned it down the entire management team should be fired.

Fantilli is clear number two in the draft but the difference between him and will smith or michkov or whoever else they would get at number 5 is a lot less than the rest of that package. Would be absolutely insane for MTL to make an offer even remotely close to that.

Caufield is a bad fit. That's the smallest, softest 1st line in hockey and they'd see zero success in the playoffs because big heavy teams would annihilate them. Verbeek preaches size and strength every time he opens his mouth to the media.

I'd trade every single player under age 23 in the Kings organization for Connor Bedard. Including Byfield and Clarke. Not 1-for-1, all-for-1.

You dont watch Caufield then
In the playoffs as a rookie even he got absolutely smoked by i believe it was Wayne Simmons
Gets up mad , calls for the puck streaking down his off side then back hand passed it to a wide open Tyler Toffoli.
Not the last time either , just the first time in a MTL Jersey if can remember going "get the stretcher he's done..." then seeing him spring back up .
Twice he put his shoulder back into its socket and played the game just this past season alone .

Calling him soft is based on ignorance and assumptions because of his size.
Anyone who seen him play knows he's all heart and is as tough as they come out there.

Also Caufield , SCF as a Rookie as a top 3 scorer.
ANA has done what in the past 15 years again ?

I called the entire line soft... you know as a three player collective. Don't put words I didn't say into my mouth.

Don't get me wong, I'd be tempted. But trading Caufield, Mailloux and [Michkov or Smith] is one heck of a price to pay for the Habs. LA is in a different stage, and has more depth in terms of good quality young players. We're still at the stage where Hughes is trying to clean-up Bergevin's mess.

Zegras isnt Soft
Caufield isnt Soft
Terry is Soft

You're still wrong ,Majority of the line isnt Soft
The Accurate statement is "Terry is really soft"
I'd kill to have a Zegras with that high of a compete level

When i say something i dont have to act offended and pretend it wasnt foolish.
I own it and go "yeah maybe i exaggerated a bit" before explaining Why i thought that.

The guy aint that bright. Hes quoted as considering Joshua Roy as a 5th round pick value.

LOL. You're absolutely correct. Zegras is a 175 pound soking wet monster putting the fear in defensemen when he goes into the corners.

Perfect! 4 centers in the top 6 lol. Also Carlsson isn't falling to 5.

Nobody knows if Carlsson falls to 5 or not. Lots of scouts prefer Smith over him then again I hear scouts prefer Carlsson over Fantilli. The top5 are in a different tier as opposed to the following picks but all very close.

Well obviously. I'm just giving my personal guess on the matter. I really don't see Columbus or San Jose passing up a 6'3 center. If anyone slips, I think it's Michkov cause of his contract. It's all up in the air anyhow. Anaheim doesn't particularly need another center in Fantilli but do you pass up a guy like that?? 2-6 are all fairly close.

I dont see how Jarmo doesnt take Will Smith, he's more dynamic than Carlsson. CBJ had their heart set on Bedard, they need something a bit more special than a 60 point center like Carlsson. Carlsson whole appeal is that hes already playing vs men and looks like he belongs. He's more of a sure thing as opposed to a Danielson/Dvorsky. He doesnt have the upside of Smith though. Will Smith/Gaudreau is too good of a combo I think to pass over. And Will Smith has a lot of momentum since u18, hes moved up the draft boards quickly but there are a few scouts that really really love Carlsson. Its more wide open than ppl here realize from 2-5OA that is why Im saying it's a bad idea to give up anything to move up from 5th to 2nd especially a 40 goal scorer and a top pair RHD potential.
