Very generous to the other teams, I'm sure they would all go for it. Just a bit of an overpayment on some of the trades.

Yeah highly unlikely Severson signs in Chicago. He will be one of the most sought after players on the market. Domi might come back but I'm pretty confident Dallas tries to keep him. He's really anchored their 2nd line well

Don’t think Min would agree to that trade. Hate the Buf & Dal trades. Tor & NYI trades need to be tweaked to be attractive enough.

I doubt DAL will be able to keep him, though. He has earned himself a pretty good pay day that he could easily go out and get if he wanted to. But, maybe some stability/term would be enticing enough to take a discount.

Not sure that Minnesota goes for that trade, but it is intriguing. Given the 3 additional first round picks, would you look to move up in the draft, and which team would be your target? I would think Philadelphia could be interested.

As a Hawks fan, sign me up. I'd like to hear from MIN fans. It's a big jump up, but a team up against the cap is getting a good player on less than the league minimum.

I would prefer to get 2 top 15 picks if possible and make the other two first round selections on guys that might fall due to size.

Well as it stands Dallas has 17 players under contract and just over 7.75M cap space to work with. Using Evolving Hockey's and AFP Analytics Contract projection models we are looking at about 4.5M to Domi and 1.5M to Dellandrea. Kiviranta is the only other player projected to get more than 900k from their current FA list but they can probably afford to let him go. So if they were to sign both players that would be 6M used on 2 players putting them at 19 roster players and 1.75M cap space. With Lundkvist no longer being waiver exempt and Harley earning a full time roster spot it is a pretty safe bet that one of Miller or Hakanpaa can be moved for a bit more cap space. That can provide them with enough room to run a 22-23 man roster

That's fair. Trying to predict this draft after Bedard and Fantilli, is impossible, so even if they got the four first rounders, three guys could fall to them that they really wanted. It's nuts.

I am not a subscriber to Evolving Hockey. I did find that AFP Analytics model, though. Interesting tool. But, I still think Domi will be looking for more money and/or term. That model has him taking that cap hit with a 5 year term. Is DAL really going to give him 5 years, with all the forward depth they have on the way, though?

Despite their overall rebuild, I suspect that the Hawks will keep Murphy as part of the veterans they'll need to surround the kids they bring in
