If you are gonna make a comment like this at least have the decency to explain yourself.

You are getting a 1st round pick for Beauvillier and that is an easy no? Clearly we'd never be offered that but if we were we would clearly take it.

We're currently talking about buying out Garland. Give Hoglander his spot and take the 1st. Would also clear 1 mil in cap space in the scenario.

I don’t think the Hawks would take Murray for less than a 2nd, even with retention. Hawks are trying to hit the cap floor anyways, I feel like the Leafs retaining on this trade wouldn’t make sense from either teams POV

I probably accept as the Flames. The value is fair, and Marner is the type of player we desperately need.

It would be quite difficult navigating the cap for the next 2 years, but it could work. I'm only worried that he's too similar to Huberdeau in terms of his play style, they would both be looking to constantly pass the puck, which would be both fun and frustrating.

I don't think adding Rooney does anything for that deal, as it is essentially a $150k cap relief.

Its close but either less retention on Beau or changing the 3rd to a 4th gets it done.

Also Calgary hang up choking on their own laughter... Abs hurting the next day

How is it close? what value do you place on Beauvillier? He's an expiring contract that could be replaced by Hoglander at mil. Add cap space and a 1st without hurting anything. Might end up improving too.

Beau is a top 6 winger who will be sought after at the TDL. Worth a high 2nd maybe late 1st IMO

Hoglander has not shown he put up numbers or perform anywhere close to Beau btw

Beauvillier has never been a first liner. He has been a 3rd liner a lot though. So middle six would be more accurate. Teams don't give up first round picks for that. Improbable that they'd even give up a 2nd for that. He's a totally fine player but he's a dime a dozen guy. Garland is the exact same and is apparently a negative asset. Sure he not an expiring deal but Beauvillier has also never produced anywhere close to Garland. They both play to their contracts essentially.

Hoglander had 27 points in 56 games his rookie yr as a 19 yr old. That's well within the scope of what Beauvillier has ever done. And he looks like he's taken another step in his progression playing down in Abbotsford. If that's your punt and you get a 1st out of and cap space it's the easiest no brainer trade going.
