Agreed.
His 2023 playoff "play" (if you want to call it that) was abysmal.
Best he tries other sports - like the Sr PGA or Blue Rinse Bowling or Lawn Darts or...

Dude got robbed for the Conn Smythe trophy. He single-handedly won Vegas the Cup by giving away that Dallas series.

I wonder if the jets and kings will both solve 2 problems at once:

Something like Dubois or Scheifele (whoever will sign) and Hellebuyck for Byfield and a second young skater plus whatever on either side for value.

That would be a monster trade in terms of player magnitude, but it also seems like a simple solution to multiple problems.

Both irrelevant unfortunately. Crazy how Bettman is killing the NHL and the owners don't give 2 ****s.

I’m not sure how Bettman gets the blame for Vegas and Florida making the finals, he didn’t choose that matchup

Yep this sums it best. Bettman was not the main issue but the way he has run the league lead to it.

Reported 2023 draft players Canucks have been interested in:
Sandin Pelikka
Danielson
Willander
Wood
Barlow
Benson

Hopefully they trade down if they are going to pick any of these guys. Danielson seems like a Bo Horvat type pick. Good defensive reputation in juniors, not the biggest producer. Willander has a high floor, but ceiling is in question

ASP is the best pick imo
Wood, Barlow, Danielson, Willander are okay picks (slight reach)
You are NOT getting Benson at 11 though, I'd be super surprised if that happens

California having 4 hockey teams just feels unnecessary

Like it would be cool but also cause some problems

Willander is the best pick at 11. ASP and Hughes would be a bad pair.

Great skater , can defend and catch up to the forwards and has size, and has offence to him

I feel like Willander and Simashev may very well be the best defensemen in this draft. Both of a great skillset that will transition well in NHL hockey. ASP strikes be as an Adam Boqvist, Nils Lundkvist, Victor Soderstrom type player

Simashev is the real deal. Really hoping he's available at 28, what a fantastic skater

Simashev at 28 would be a steal. It would be silly for him to slip past 20. His offensive numbers aren't eye popping which is why he is going to be a steal. He has the skills, he just has to use them consistently and the points will come. If the top 10 on my list are gone, I would want the Canucks to trade down for Simashev and grab a 2nd round pick

I mean the latest projections have him now at 28-38 so I dont think steal more like a safe pick. If Sandin dropped to 28OA thats a steal

Hes a safe pick but the one big IF is if his game translates to NHL hockey

As often we see guys come from KHL and struggle lets hope if we pick him that does not happen

Still a 6'4 202 pound 18 year old defensive dman is pretty safe but then again Eemeli Rasanen still gives me nightmares lul

I agree it’s more safe. Very high floor. Likely a guarantee NHL player unless something goes wrong in development. Ceiling is in question, however if they can tap into that potential, it could be a steal

Bro I miss Klefbom so much, image if these Oilers had a top pair dman for a little over 4 mil, and if we still had him Nurse wouldn't be making 9 mil either. Losing Klef and Larsson both for nothing a year apart set the Oilers back years

I loved watching Klefbom. He was one of my favourite defenseman in the league. Really wish we got to see the Oilers with him healthy frown

Ngl, I didn't realize he was that good, Jfresh's caption kinda says it all. Very unfortunate.
