Description

You're basically giving up Addison, Rossi, Zuccarello, Foligno and a 1st rounder for Dubois. Signing Gus to a bridge contract and filling the team with marginal players. A very big GAMBLE on one player. But it shows a way in which the Wild could acquire Dubois. I'm sure there are many tweaks to the trade possible.

I tend to agree myself. I wanted to show a possible way to acquire Dubois. Zuccarello and Foligno are OLD. Addison and Rossi (MIGHT) be busts and Wild are selling high. For 2023-24 season it might be a disaster. But Dubois is young enough and with the Wilds prospects it maybe would work out in the long run. I agree it's a VERY BIG GAMBLE to make such maneuvers.

1. If they decide to trade him, the Jets will definitely prefer not to trade PLD to their biggest rival. 2. Despite their age Guerin will not trade two team leaders, as well as two top prospects, and a 1st for a guy who has already asked off of two teams. PLD is the exact opposite type of character BG wants on the Wild. 3. Gus gets more like 3.5M AAV.

Dubois is reportedly looking for 9 Mil on a long term deal, if true I don't see many teams ponying up the trade assets and then offering him 9 mil x 6-8 years. Why wouldn't they just wait for him to hit FA next offseason and keep the assets if they need to pay 9 mil as well
