2023-2024 NYR Panarin Trade Trouba Buyout

Created by: gdli
Team: 2023-24 New York Rangers
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 13, 2023
Published: Jun. 13, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
The Rangers will never win anything with Panarin and Trouba. Panarin: great regular season stats; playoffs Not enough D and because of his size, he is easily negated. Would BUF entertain? Tuch NTC a non-issue. I expect I lot of noise re: Trouba. His stats don't warrant his contract. Big hits aside, NYR need to free cap space to field a team. Drury is making Staher look like a CAP genius!

Panarin doesn't waive for buffalo.
a 2025 first rd pick helps a different GM. Drury says no.

Not even getting into justin holl in the top 4.

That Trouba contract is going absolutely nowhere unless you guys attach a whole lot of sweeteners

No shot buffalo even counters that. I think that Tuch and their 1st would be non-starters.
I like the Haula signing a lot though, he was a real pain in the ass in the 1st round this year. I would like to see that intensity with the Rags.

I also think its a huge Vad overpay and Miller underpay

Ain't happening bro is a "drive by" response. MAGA seems to be in my camp re: Trouba. Leave Trouba on the roster, what do propose to offer your #1 RW; $750K. Do the math. NYR may be stuck with the Breadman. Anyone have any thought a a Panarin trade?

Rangers can trade Trouba starting next season, and Bread probably does better under a different coach.

As far as the trade goes, even if Bread waives his NMC for Buffalo(which he won't), his cap hit is no easy feet to take on for any team and isn't just gonna work like that. Honestly Rangers might even have a hard time getting assets for him unless we retain part of his salary. If he bounces back, which is a real possibility, maybe the value for this will be alright. But right now, coming from a Rangers fan, this isn't realistic, even if Bread didnt have a NMC.

That trade proposal defies any sense of logic or common sense from the Buffalo POV - anyone remotely aware of the Sabres' philosophy and team structure would understand that.

Panarin has great stats during the regular season. The NYR may not be able to trade him, but they will never win a cup with him. At playoff time Breads is a non factor. His size is easily negated, and he plays average defense at best. In my view that's a stretch. So what I am asking everyone to consider is trading Panarin. What would that look like in your view. If you want to incent Artemi, threaten to bury his contract. It's called leverage. If your view is to stand pat, then look forward to three more season's of NO CUP. And for the record, I thought his contract was a joke when it was signed. Too many eggs in the basket, with no room for the supporting cast.

@gdli I love Panarin, he is an amazingly talented forward.
In reality if the picks were removed, Buffalo would probably still say no.
Look how Alex's offensive talents sky rocketed when he put on the Sabre Blue and Gold.
Equally important is his salary is slightly more than 1/3 of Panarin's.
That $7,000,000 difference is equal to Tage Thompson or Dylan Cozens.
Buffalo would certainly pass on this trade.
