I think Winnipeg could get Arvidsson, the 1st and one of Clarke or Byfield alone for Dubois or Helle. Split those guys up, from what I am reading it looks more like Dubois to LA and Helle to Buffalo or Ottawa.

Clarke or Byfield alone has more value than PLD and rental Hellebuyck.

Rob Blake is not trading Quinton Byfield or Brandt Clarke, the two most important draft selections he's ever made. Period, end of story.

laugh You're not getting Byfield and Clarke for PLD and a one year rental in Connor Hellebuyck. Trades a joke.

I thought the recent reports said that LA was in on PLD but out on Hellebuyck? Is there something newer that had come out?

Sorry Kings fans, habs fans have been dealing with this bs all year

Clarke and Byfield are both top 10 prospects in the entire league and huge parts of the Kings future. Legit would have to be Dubois, Connor and Hellebuyck all retained 50% and like 2 years of 1st rounders

This is not me spitballing. This is what LeBrun said in his paper in the Athletic. Also, both Dubois and Helle are most likely to come with extension and part of a sign and trade.

So not saying you are wrong. I honestly don't know much about either. But Friedman said that Blake may have lost interest in Byfield's ability to play center that is why he spent most of last year playing the wing. The reason he said LA is in on Dubois is for that reason, they do not believe that they have a legitimate center in Byfield. Now, you sound like you know a lot about him so you could probably speak more to it then I can.

Doubting whether Byfield can be the #1 center to replace Anze Kopitar when Kopi finally retires is different from thinking that he should be traded. Byfield is younger than any of the other 14 forwards on the Kings' main roster and also younger than prime prospects Alex Turcotte, Sam Fa-gem-o, Alex LaFerriere and Andre Lee, and younger than any forwards on Winnipeg's main roster. Los Angeles will give him at least two more seasons before making a final decision on him, just as they did with Gabe Vilardi (didn't THAT turn out nicely?) and probably will with Alex Turcotte.

I don't think that we're in on DuBois for a variety of reasons, including but not limited to cap and the institutional antipathy the Kings have to malcontents, a philosophy that pre-dates Blake and is likely still present. Los Angeles doesn't have a comfortable place to put him now, with Kopitar and Danault at center and Fiala, Kempe, Moore, Arvidsson, Iafallo and Vilardi at wing even without Byfield in either capacity. Moreover, signing DuBois long-term would rule out acquiring an equally expensive starting goaltender (either now or in the future) or the pipe dream of Auston Matthews in 2024.

Kings have zero cap space for even 1 guy in the trade and I highly doubt they can afford both. Kopitar or Doughty would have to be traded to fit both and that will never happen. No way in hell are the Kings trading Clarke or Byfield.

Why do Winnipeg fans think they are going to get the moon for 2 players that will have high cap hits that have ASKED out of Winnipeg. Winnipeg is not trading from a side of strength. Helle wants to go to a contender and PLD already said he doesn't want to sign with Winnipeg. They have already killed 50% of their trade value with those requests.

I do agree with you. I am just repeating what LeBrun said on his article in the Athletic. I am not sure what the right ask is.
