Horrible for the Hawks. If you want to drop that TBL 1st to the DAL 3rd...fine, but we really like Murphy. It appears you do too putting him as the #1RD.

I'm not putting him as a top pair d because i think i he is. I'm putting him as a top pair d because he's good defensively and fits what Quinn needs has a partner, moving up in the draft is expensive, especially when your moving up 11 spots in a highly talented draft. Not to mention Murphy is gonna get traded black hawks eventually, and murph's stats and war haven gotten worse the last few seasons, your viewing him way to highly, he doesn't fit the black hawks window at all.

I disagree. He's perfect for the Hawks window because the Hawks don't have any veteran LD. They're likely to start Alex Vlasic, Isaak Phillips, Potentially Caleb Jones at LD with Tinordi being the 4th LD. Those kids need development and playing alongside a physical veteran Dman is EXACTLY what they need.

I do like the #11 pick, but moving back in THIS draft is actually EASIER in than other drafts. It's deeper and there's tons of talent even going into the 2nd round where in another year those picks in the 20-30's coulda been in the teens. I think most people misunderstand what Deep Draft means. Don't get me wrong, and I'll say it again. I do like the #11OA, but not for A.) Taking on TMyers, B.) Trading away a really good defensive Dman that'll help our own Dprospects mature, and C.) The #19??? No, Pass all day on that.

Paying to dump Garland just to sign Bunting to 6x5.75 is a terrible idea

Not debating about you if moving down or up is a good move the for hawks, but it was reported they wanted to move up, and Murphy has value why keep him on a ****ting team while you could trade him and just sign a veteran. There are a lot of Vet dman that would sign if the price was right, not to mention your getting Myers back in that trade who is a vet. https://thehockeywriters.com/blackhawks-murphy-trade-up-2023-draft/

Bunting feels like he fits the Canucks more then Garland, he's physical is 5'11 and plays a really gritty game. Garland gets pushed off the puck too easily and doesn't lay a lot of hits.

The cost of flipping those 1st round picks is an early 2nd. Hawks would want a late 1st (or a pair of 2nds w/ one being earlyish) to move Murphy....or they just wait to the deadline this year or next (after he gets to mentor LHD kids coming up) Myers before his bonus gets paid is an easily a 2nd to move. In summary, this proposed trade is a couple 2nd rounders going to the Hawks short of fair value.

Counteroffer with the fewest moving parts relative to your orginal offer would be the Hawk 2nd going back instead of the Tampa 1st or Murphy + #35OA for Myers +#11OA. That values the combo of dumping Myers at full price/cap and acquiring Murphy for the #20OA pick. If you want to do Myers as a player to be named later (after his bonus gets paid (and his price tag is 1 million/6 in cap), I would offer adding the Ott 2nd #44OA pick to make the value of Murphy/Myers difference the #28OA pick...which is still getting off light taking all of Myers caphit for you.

I agree with what you're saying. Kyle Davidson himself (Hawks GM) Came out a few weeks ago stating that they were exploring A.) taking on dumps and B.) seeing what it would take to move into the top 15. Since then he's come out and sang a bit of a different tune and it's assumed (assume broken down is "making an ass out of u and me") he received a bunch of low ball offers because teams wrongfully took that as the Hawks would have a hard time reaching the cap floor...time to shed our crap for free. That's not the case. He's since come out and said.

“I have no concern about getting to the cap floor; that’s going to happen with general ease,”

"If you’re sitting there at 19 and there’s 5 guys you like, maybe you look to move back because you can get one of those guys...and keep banking assets. To say we’re just going to move up, that’s probably premature."

I'd keep Murphy on the team because he helps their prospects grow into NHLers. That's just player development.

Even if that’s true, Garland is still an effective player that costs less. If the team manages to shed cap the last position they should be spending it on is the wing.

19 minus 11 is 8, by the way. So it is 8 spots CHI would be moving up. The difference between those two picks is closer to a early-mid 2nd round pick. Murphy is worth a late(ish) 1st to CHI. Dumping Myers before his bonus is paid is also worth a late 1st, or an early to mid 2nd at the very least. This trade has CHI giving up significantly more value than Vancouver is.

I use the chart in this link often as a reference for draft pick values. There are others, such as the one from The Athletic, which assign different numbers to represent pick values, but the math essentially works out the same way.
