Additional Details:
Trade Yamo instead of making the Pool Party mistake or the buyout. Evans is cheap depth for a team that needs to shed cap and go bargain hunting. Evans speed and past playoff performance will be interesting to Holland. Oilers already like Jake after the 2021 season where he skated against Mcdavid on a line with Lehkonen and shut him down. Connor calls Jake Big Head and they have mutual friends since they played against each other in the OHL Cups around 2012-13. Foegele-Evans should be a good pair

Kings have no desire to take Campbell back. Edmonton signed him to that disaster of a contract, good luck trading that! There are better options for Durzi and Arvidsson than that offer.

The Kings actually save more cap this season on this transaction but OK!

Durzi and Arvy would bring back positives to the Kings, this trade for the Kings is all around negative. Both guys would fetch more than just a 2nd on their own. Kings had to give up a NHL defencmen a good prospect a 2nd and retain 2m in Provys salary just to get rid of Petersen so goodluck getting rid of Jack.

Cause Carolina desperately wants a top flight center and it's very appealing to live in Carolina.

Tell me you don't know whom Bourgault is without telling me.

I can tell you he is a right winger that if traded to the Kings wouldn't make the right wing on any line on the Kings cause they are too deep there. In other words useless

This is a lot more reasonable trade if it happens. The Hurricanes get a legit 2nd line center and a first.

Giving up a cost controlled center who is signed for 6-7 more years for a potential rental top 4 dman is nuts. RNH is a lot more valuable than Pesce especially considering contract situations.

Arvidsson and Durzi are both worth roughly a 2nd and 3rd round pick, each.

Jack Campbell has negative value. We recently found out how much it costs to dump two seasons of a bad goaltender's contract. The Kings had to pay a 2nd and a quality prospect (Grans) to dump 2 years of $3M in cap space ($5M with $2M retained). I won't say Campbell costs a 1st, but since his contract is twice as long, he costs twice as much to dump (two 2nds and two quality prospects).

So here's a counter proposal:

To EDM:
Arvidsson
Durzi

To LA:
Jack Campbell ($2M retained)
Four 2nd round picks
Two 3rd round picks
Xavier Bourgault
Philip Broberg

Seattle will not be assisting the Oilers in their hope of acquiring Durzi and Pesce. Edmonton could offer the 4th Rounder and the Kraken would still likely decline.

He's a RHD that makes little money. There is always a market for that especially in a year with a barren free agent class and a big need at RHD with Seattle unless they sign Soucy to a higher AAV. A bunch of Kraken fans have already said it's more than reasonable. @KrakBirds23 @KrakenTheCode

RHD are always overvalued and the OIlers have a 2-3 year window with the McDrai contracts. Nuge didnt show up this past playoffs and he is getting the Mitchy Marner treatment atm.

Useless. The only thing useless is your comment denying a 1st round pick with high upside and thinking its negative value but go on..

Hmm, I'm usually pretty on top of the posts made by those 2 on here. Don't recall reading their glowing endorsements. (?) Oh well, that's the great thing about this forum and its wonderfully varied opinions!

I won't debate you on the greatness of Cody Ceci except to say he seems to get dumped on and deemed expendable almost everywhere he's played, though. Edmonton now seems to be the latest.

Anyway . . . In my initial post, the bigger point was why Seattle would help a division rival free up cap space and a roster spot for them to add 2 better RD options on the trade market, rather than trying to acquire one of them themselves.

After seeing some of the projections for UFA contracts this morning. Soucy for 2x2.75 may be out there which I think the Kraken jump on. It's in their cap realm for the next two years but stone walls some of the prospects. I still think Soucy is a high demand FA but I also think Seattle will be fine if they re-sign the RFA's (Dunn and Borgen).

BooHoo! You're getting a great prospect in Bourgault who has been going in Pesce trades all over the map here and yet Durzi, a sheltered rhd, with a cap dump in Arvidsson isnt worth that? You Kings fans are wild. This is to move Campbell no one cares about Durzi and Arvidsson. Mid at best assets.

Right, a 60-point winger on an incredibly team friendly contract is "mid."

Take out Durzi and Arvidsson going back to Edmonton and this is still a no.
