Flames fans don't want to hear this but y'all are in rebuild mode. Since they are in rebuild mode they will want picks or key prospects. I can't see a deal that doesn't start with Sillinger included.

The second is #34 overall, in THIS draft . . . so I think that you're one element too heavy. Take it out and it's fair. If I were Jarmo, I'd cling to that second like it was my driver's license.

This proposed offer has 2 high picks, a high quality prospect who was just drafted in the 2nd round last draft, and a quality 22 year old roster player. How does that not meet the needs for a “rebuilding team” (if they even decide to rebuild.

This is a quality offer. Would likely be highly considered, and I doubt if Sillinger is moved. Columbus is pretty high on him and likely keep him.

I would rather part with that pick than another nhl ready young guy like sillinger. But I agree that this package *may* be alittle heavy. But I would be more than fine sending it for lindholm.

Honestly with the news out of Calgary and with how high our club is on sillinger I don’t see him being apart of the trade. Could swap in a cuelemans in place of Dbb but not willing to part with one of sillinger or mateychuk. Especially since Calgary has lost a lot of leverage with him (most likely) not resigning.

I think Calgary would want/need Sillinger to get it done. Especially since they'll have to wait a year for the 1st.

They loved Sillinger in his draft year, they were going to take him before he went one spot ahead of where they were picking.

True. I just don’t see Columbus willing to part with him this early. He was 19 until April (at least late season) so his true 20 year old season will be next year. His upside is too high to trade.

Also Calgary lost some leverage today as it sounds it’s a full on fire sale on the team. I don’t think anyone else in the running (could be wrong) has a player with the upside or youth of sillinger they can offer so I don’t see why Columbus should offer him.

If it does, he isn’t resigning in Columbus. I can’t imagine a guy that won’t sign because of the damage thatDaryl Sutter did will be a fan of playing under Mike Babcock.
Just keep the assets for the needed rebuild

I think a lot of Flames fans want a rebuild, the owner just won’t let it happen.

Probably just save yourself the assets and be patient 1 more year.

I think based on our other moves, we aren’t going to be patient.

They almost can’t, with their commitment to Huberdeau, Weegar and Kadri. Would be stupid to tear it down and have them just kinda chill as it all goes on (sure the latter two could probably be traded as well, but Huberdeau is almost immovable). I can’t see them trading Lindholm or anyone else without getting youthful NHL players in return.

They should have gone after Lundell last year imo. This would be a perfect opportunity for it, but they’ve kind of locked themselves into trying to compete I feel.

For better or worse the rebuild is over so, acquiring a top line/ top 6 center is priority number one. Also if we make a trade. I think we’d need to check with Elias that he would be open to extending.

Like I said before though, I can’t imagine he would even stay considering the reasons he won’t resign in Calgary in the first place. And then a year later when that happens, you’re likely looking at a lottery pick given away plus the assets for a finish that isn’t worth the one year cost

Probably does, but I don't want him. He's not a gamebreaker worth cashing in a bunch of assets for. Wait for Pettersson's contract talks to go south and request a trade. Then we pounce.
