Jackets counter with Roslovic, Peeke, Ceulemans, and a 2024 2nd for Lindholm and Tanev.

Leafs have zero interest in Vladar; retain 50% on toffoli and maybe Tre makes this deal 🤷🏻. If nothing else, I’m impressed with how quiet things are - Tre & Leafs keeping it tight, no idea what we will do

I don't hate the Backlund idea, but there's problems with it. First, the #1 most important thing is finding the right partner for power- a defensive d, preferably physical and right shot. Second priority is finding a vet goalie to split time with Levi (although it's starting to look like our gm isn't at all interested in paying anything near asking for the guys on the market). Backlund as a third line center could work, but it probably means mittelstadt has to be moved first, which I'm OK with, just our gm is acting pretty conservative, it complicates things if a trade requires a second trade to fit. Also, as a conservative gm, he doesn't seem to be in the market for rentals, I think he would view a second and a third for one year of a 34 year old third line center, as kind of a waste of assets.

Perfect, exactly my thoughts (as you have done before).
Let's consider as you said moving Mittelstadt for a #2 RHD.
Maybe Casey and Ilya for a young RHD with NHL experience.
Then at the TDL Kulich or Savoie appear to be ready for prime time, Backlund may be more valuable than a 2nd and 3rd.
Even if he is not, we get a 2nd pairing RHD.

But you are correct, as written and with the Sabre needs this trade is most likely not to take place.
Some team will give the Flames at least a 2nd and 3rd for Backlund.

Wings need LHD so. Hanifin is not what Wings need ,Thanks but no thanks. Wings either use pick or trade for a scorer or RHD defensema

Flames fans please pick a different team for Hanifin. We aren't the right match. We already have too many left handed defense and 3 of our top 5 prospects are left handed defense (Edvinsson, Wallinder, Johansson)

It's not a value issue, it's a fit issue
