Build the Base for Michkov

Created by: TBOLT
Team: 2023-24 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 29, 2023
Published: Jun. 29, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Would like to move Laughton, but if they didn't before the draft for what was reportedly offered I do not see them moving him this offseason. Deadline makes sense as the next time to try and move him to a team in the playoff picture that needs that type of player

They need to get the team young and get the first few of the core of the Michkov era team playing together and comfortable. Make sure this team is as ready to go as possible for as soon as Michkov can come state side.

No one is paying 2 firsts and a former mid first for Hart.

I dont think Holloway is available. Bourgault makes some sense. And, the Oilers dont have the money to take the extra cap. 2M retention on Konecny is a must otherwise they dont sign McLeod or Bouchard so one of them would have to be in the deal if no retention

Konecny for a 1st, McLeod, Savoie and Ceci makes more sense if no retention.

You don’t have enough to get TK without Holloway being included, if you think otherwise ur just delusional. That offer u suggested for TK is absolutely awful lol.

That’s a lot for Hart, I’d be good with just Ostlund and 2024 1st with top 5 protection.

Last I checked this is a salary cap site. Like I said. Holloway's ELC is invaluable and they dont have the cap for Konecny then and you aint moving that term for a big package without retention unless you have been asleep the past week, wingers arent going for much of anything with term.

The only one is delusional is you if you think a goalie like Hart is worth 2 1sts such as Ostlund and a 2024 1st

If they are betting on Levi being legit then they shouldn’t pay it. But this is the starting point for Hart realistically for Danny. Buffalo may not pay it but for Hart to get moved someone will have to. Just not sure Buffalo wants to risk sucking for yet another year because they can’t find a goalie that can stop a puck until Levi is ready to go full time

Sabres can offer Varlamov or Andersen 7 mil on 1 year deal.

Ah so ur just delusional, got it lol. Toffoli got moved for a 3rd and a good player in Yegor. Toffoli is 6 years older, 1 year left in his deal, and scored at a lesser rate POG wise than TK on a much better team. TK has 2 years left on his deal and put up what he did on a horrible team. Flyers gave 2 years to trade TK, Oilers probably don’t have a lot of time left before all of their top players demand out since they continue to get bounced in basically the same spot every year and the team never improves lol. If you want to bring in more impact players u have to actually pay for them. Find some way to dump cap and then pay for TK like the flyers ask or go lose in the 2nd round again lol

How trading 3x1st for one year of Hart is better than signing Varlamov to backup Levi and keeping those picks ?

I never said it was better. I said Levi isn’t ready to go full time in the NHL yet so if you don’t get a good goalie who can (not Varlamov who is a back up at best) you will be throwing away another year

The Sabres were 1 win away from a playoff spot this season with most games being played by Anderson, UPL, and Comrie. I’d think that Anderson/Levi or Varlamov/Levi would be enough of an upgrade to make the playoffs.

Goaltending wasn't the biggest issue on Sabres defensive side. The real issue was lack of depth in defensive core and two-way game of forwards. If Sabres are able to sign vet RHD to play with Power, they will be fine with UPL and Levi duo going forward. That's the message for Adams anyhow.

I still would take a shot on overpaying Varlamov on 1yr deal, hoping he will have 30 decent games in the season, than trading 3x1st for Hart. Upgrade isn't worth that much.
