I love this deal for Montreal. Former 7th overall pick and was almost a PPG player last year in the AHL. Big pick up for Laval

this is probably a signing made by Gorton and not Hughes

Julien Gauthier 2.0

Big guys with a shot but no hockey IQ can't stay in the NHL if they cost more goals than they can score.

The Kings gave this kid numerous chances and he did nothing with it. Career AHLer. New York did well getting a 2nd out of the Kings for him.

As a habs fan, I love it absolutely nothing to lose.

Best case, he plays in our lineup and the habs try to revive him, worst case he is a good AHL player for us.

This is odd, no? Considering Gorton was the GM who had to go through all the drama with this kid in New York. Maybe he sees something different in him now at 24.

the best signings of the off-season have all looked like this— short, safe, and cheap. new teams present new opportunities and also new struggles so, i expect to see Anderson continue to progress into a potential bottom 6 regular in the NHL or a great top 6 in the AHL.

Don't think he'll ever be a bottom 6 player. Plays the kind of game where he has to be a Top 6 winger or bust.

If he keeps on like last year, he'll be a great addition for Laval, which will need some experienced guys with the massive influx of rookies.
