So it comes to this. After 2 years of enduring the derision and scorn of Leafs fans towards proposed Josh Anderson trades, they go and sign Tyler Bertuzzi to the exact amount the Habs are paying Josh Anderson. The two players play a very similar game. Josh is a little healthier and a little more consistent. Tyler scores less but has more assists per game

Ah, how can i express this so you can understand. Anderson, IS NOT, worth trading away any assets for...

I've been hearing for the past 2 years from Habs fans, who refuse to accept the reality that it was a bad contract, how every GM under the sun apparently LOVES his game, and how everybody wants to trade for him.
Remind me again how many of them actually did? Ah, that's right..

Josh Anderson career stats:
0.44 points per game
0.26 goals per game

Tyler Bertuzzi career stats:
0.67 points per game
0.28 goals per game

Not only does Bertuzzi score more than Anderson, he puts up significantly more assists as well. They are earning the same salary. That's why no one wants to pay for Anderson.

For me it’s the term on anderson, being a budget team in Winnipeg and wanting all the dollars on the ice, would have me hesitating on anderson. Bertuzzi on a show me one year deal is great value, I would hesitate the same, if they put 5/6 years on him also.

I think if look at the return for Kevin Hayes with retention and then figure that Hayes is 3 or 4 times the player Anderson is, you'd have your answer.

Montreal will need to pay handsomely to make Anderson go away.

Maybe because Bertuzzi is a far better player? Use some logic for once. Josh Anderson is a cap dump because he isn’t worth his contract, and teams can sign better players for free in free agency

Josh Anderson hasn't scored at .5 PPG since 2018-19, Bertuzzi hasn't scored under that since 2016-17 when he played on 7 games as a rookie

If that’s your only argument, you’re clearly lost. Anderson scores 20 ok cool. He does nothing else. He SUCKS defensively, not even top 100 in hits, doesn’t get assists. For 5.5, you can do a lot better
