So how does this get done if it puts the team over the cap?
They can be 10% over the cap during the summer and once the season starts, they will just have to send one player down to the AHL to be over the cap. They could lose someone to waivers.

At this point, I don't think it's really "make or break" as he just turned 23 and he's putting up better numbers than most 4th line guys in the league. Though, I agree, this is a bit of a 'show me'.

He’s proven hes an NHL er yes. But if he wants a middle six contract, its time to prove it. If not, it’s probably another 6 figure contract next summer
