All that for one year Lindholm? Three former first rounders and an a second. Easy no by the Jackets.

I'm sure if Conroy had that offer Lindy would've been traded immediately. Hell I'd do Lindholm for Johnson straight up, but i doubt CBJ would.

CBJ needs to add at least Fantilli and a 2nd to make this worth it for CGY. Lindholm is a special player and people forget he was drafted 5th overall not too long ago

Lmao Lindy was drafted a literal decade ago. Adam Fantilli is 18 and might be 100-point Elias Lindholm.

I would take him re-signed for Silly, Peeke, and a 2nd though

That would not get you Lindholm. More like Sillinger, 1st, 2nd, and Dumais

how so? they get a legit 1-2 centre puch in EL and AF, and the only asset of note going the other way is Johnson. Sillinger hasn't shown much so far, and Ceulemans is a few years away from making an impact. with the moves on D that Kekalainen has made, it's clear CBJ wants to compete now.

Zero chance Fantilli goes anywhere in a trade.

He was being sarcastic. This trade is awful for the jackets.

You are about to massively disappointed when you get a late first and decent prospect at the deadline for lindholm

You're right. Because nobody would be interested in a top 15 center with a 80% prorated and at a cap hit of less than 2.5M. Totally not an extremely high value deadline asset

Its the Horvat situation all over again. Vancouver was convinced they were going to end up with 2 1st round picks + additional premium prospects for a 2.75mil former captain who was one of the league leaders in scoring and had decent metrics.

Not long ago.? He was drafted in 2013 which in hockey terms is a long time ago. He may at his peak but for nine more years..
It's like electing a president of a country when that person is in their mid 70s older, and expect them to mentally and physically fit for the job.

I wonder if the Seth Jones trade has made GMs gunshy about that kind of deal now. Have we really seen a blockbuster since? Sure, flat cap and all, but even so. Who was the last player even traded for two firsts and other assets? Hagel?

You're right. Looks like the Jackets aren't offering anything of any real value here so Calgary probably declines. Can't get a god tier player like Lindholm for trash players. Dang.

I legit can't think of another one...Giroux and Boston Lindholm are the only ones I think that sent out extensive resources but didn't include 2 1st round picks and 1st round equivalents. The more I think about it Lindholm might not bring back that much outside a mid late 1st, an A tier prospect or under 24 regular player and a 2-3 round pick if this happens. Looking at equivalent trades lately a Lindholm trade would look like either 2024 1st top 10 protected + Sillinger or 2024 1st top 10 protected, a 3rd and Texier/Chinakhov
