He would be, yes, but he'd be cheap to acquire, cost controlled for 4 more seasons at what will be an increasingly modest cap hit, and Boston has a strong enough defense to make up for his deficiencies in that area.
While he's no 1C, between Pasta and Marchand, I could see him temporarily filling the void until a true 1C could be acquired in a year or two. Between draft capital and cap space, bandaids are probably all Boston can afford this season.
The other guy who could be made available, and I think would excell in Boston is Isaac Lundestrom. Again though, he's a 2-3C guy, but he's a young defensive center.
