Description

Apparently Sweeney has called on both Zegras and McTavish
not that it'd ever happen, but what would even be cost?
Can't find the article to link so i'm sure it's BS. but conversely, Bs fans, do we just wait it out and try FA for a 1/2C?
Sweeney drafts like a drunk monkey, so i'm not holding my breath in any capacity that we get one.

Assuming 2 1st rd picks to start, (would be in 20s hopefully)
Forbort for salary.
Guessing a player like Frederic for his play style, and fits in top 9.
Debrsuk to replace the top 6 lost, can either work extension prior or leave it up to you
Any prospects we add you have better of same in your system, so that won't help, but would it be Lohrei or Lysell going back? or both
Is an additional add Swayman with the intention of moving Gibson, or with Dostal, does Ullmark fit better in to the scheme?

Zegras is signed too low, but it's what fits salary wise unless we dump someone else

Agreed that it won't happen, but I think if ANA were willing to deal McTavish they could work out a deal. The teams have a ton of trade history and the GMs are on good terms. I would think McTavish would cost a 1st, DeBrusk, Poitras, and another prospect. That could change if Gibson gets traded and Swayman can be a piece.

The conversation probably starts with McAvoy or Pasta. I am going no where near this trade if I am either GM.

Throwing some role players and 1st round picks at them would probably require at least 3 first rounders (2 to replace 2 young high quality players and one as a sweetener for the trouble of extending the rebuild for another 3-4 years), and the role players are really only to maybe flip for more assets (which have low value so far this year). I can only assume that Ducks fans would not be happy at all and the GM would get canned in a year or two.

But it is fun to dream!

im so glad everyone else can take a minute to **** on the post rather than read a sentence and assume i mean both. It's almost comical the lack of common sense with some people on here.

If I’m Ducks i keep what i got.

Carlo/Swayman/1st would be the minimum I would listen to for either of them. I’d still rather just keep them if i’m them.

i just tried to find it and genuinely cannot. I think it might have been in an article discussing Lindholm or Scheifelle, and they mentioned it or something. I can't remember so like i said i'm sure it's some summer clickbait, and complete bs

McTavish maybe, doubt it tho, but not Zegras. If I’m Ducks i keep what i got.

I'm sorry, but Boston is not currently in a position to acquire either of these players. You guys have one of the very worst prospect pools at the moment, and are also severely light on draft picks. It's sleep in your made bed time, I think.

So for just one of those guys, I still think the Ducks will be asking for the moon, because nothing else really helps them. They expect those two to be core contributors for many years. They would only throw that away if they can contend starting now. That leads me back to either Pasta or Mac, which the Bs of course say no to for now.

If you need a 2C though, could we interest you in Strome? Shown he does incredibly well when he's got some talent on his wings, stick his with a pasta or a Marchand and he could light up like he did the last three years in NYR.

thank you for an actual response haha. I don't think there's a way to pry away either (i'd assume McTavish more willing to be moved?) but was curious.
I agree probably have to be a whole lot to even pick up the phone, but would then turn to is it worth it for BOS to give away anything of positive value.
I think like everyone says it's a dream, but at least fun to play with in July

I know they could beat me on or off the ice, but anyone in the leage named Strome playing in the Bruins top 6 will not solve their problems. The top 6 probably needs to undergo some serious surgery, but Strome would be a bandaid.

He would be, yes, but he'd be cheap to acquire, cost controlled for 4 more seasons at what will be an increasingly modest cap hit, and Boston has a strong enough defense to make up for his deficiencies in that area.

While he's no 1C, between Pasta and Marchand, I could see him temporarily filling the void until a true 1C could be acquired in a year or two. Between draft capital and cap space, bandaids are probably all Boston can afford this season.

The other guy who could be made available, and I think would excell in Boston is Isaac Lundestrom. Again though, he's a 2-3C guy, but he's a young defensive center.

The "rumor" came from House of Hockey and said Boston reached out about Zegras and then mentioned he was an OS candidate. It failed to mention that Boston doesn't have the required picks to even consider an OS.
