Red Wings are quite full on D. Not exactly a stable of Norris candidates. Well Seider maybe. But I don't see them having a need for Myers. Lindstrom stinks. I'm surprised Yzerman re-signed him.

Canucks don't have cap space for DeSmith.

Horrible trade for Montreal. Hughes/Gorton aren't doing that.

Myers is better than Lindstrom and the $6M cap space is money in the bank for next year.
Some people might suggest that I'm overpaying for Dach. All he has going for him is potential and size. He hasn't scored much, he isn't good on faceoffs.
So what makes him worth more than Beauvillier, Brisebois and 2nd?
Made cap space for DeSmith.

If you cant understand the concept of age and potential when it comes to dach vs Beauvillier you arent qualified to be writing agms

Dach scored all of 2 fewer points than Beauvillier while missing almost 1/3 of the season so if scoring is an issue for Dach I don't know what that says about Beauvillier. He's also bigger, younger and plays a more premium position while also having both a longer and cheaper contract with team control beyond it.

Brisebois is a 26 y/o journeyman defenceman who's passed through waivers unclaimed 3 times already and could only manage 17 games on Vancouver's atrocious blue-line last season. He probably has little value if any at all at this time.

I think any GM of a rebuilding team with a brain would keep the big, young and cheaper centerman who's starting to breakout (and has term) over taking a pending UFA undersized middle-six winger, waiver fodder defenseman, and 2nd round pick nearly 2 years away.

Ok but Lindstrom is almost 10yrs younger and currently will be Detroit's 4th RHD. He probably spend a good amount of time playing in AHL with most of Detroit's top prospects. Yzerman would like to see his top prospects to find success as a team in the AHL before they are brought up. Bicker is fast works hard and has the right attitude but he is still pretty raw but at 18 he has a few years to improve his game. Rathbone is 24 and is still spending more time in the AHL than he is in the NHL. He is also an LHD something Detroit doesn't need. I'd much rather have Bicker over Rathbone. I'm sorry this is pretty bad for Detroit so they decline.

With this ridiculous package you shouldn't even be allowed to pronounce the words "Kirby" and "Dach" together
