Pittsburgh only paid Matheson+4th round pick for 3 years of Petry, Detroit isn't trading Chiarot+2nd round pick for one year less of Petry.

Why exactly do you think this a response to lol what?

Montreal doesn't want Chiarot. They don't even necessarily want to trade Petry. And they'd (as the organization that knows the most about both players) certainly prefer the player that has always been and will likely continue to be the much better player.

"Only paid". Thing is, Matheson is miles more valuable than Chiarot and a 2nd. Like not in the same realm. A 2nd isn't enough to get rid of Chiarot.
