The big difference being Kyrou doesn't want to leave so that offer is terrible.

I wouldn't say this 'offer is terrible' for Kyrou.

A likely late first, a dman who will want to be paid (while the Blues already have enough money tied up in D), Bread man no where near Kyrou and a mid prospect is a terrible offer. Kyrou just turned 25 and is signed until 33 (great age to end a contract for an organization). There is nothing desirable for Kyrou in this deal. If he's potting 30+ goals a season, his deal will look great with the cap expected to go up.

Maybe that package isn't terrible in itself, but it's terrible for STL.

Just little ironic. Kyrou draft pick originally was cgy, that they give for elliot. And now some willing give for him 1st +prospect + roster player.

To answer your question, yes, it's impossible. For now, anyway.

And yeah, that offer is hella crap. AND the Blues cannot even come close to affording it.

I know the value of Kyrou and how his contract will age.

But, Hanifin, Mangiapane, and a 1st is not a 'terrible' or 'crap' offer for Kyrou. Try again. Use another word.

Not bad value wise, but Blues shouldn’t be adding rentals.

No the big difference is Kyrou is a 1 dimensional player who is good but doesn't hold a candle to Tkachuk. I would rather go after Ehlers or Nylander if that's the type of player Calgary wants to add. Kyrou is like Dube but scores more on the PP

counter offer: kyrou, and one of Leddy, parayko, krug, scandella, or faulk (whichever will waive)
return: hanifin, cornato or mangiapane, and both 2025 thirds.

It's highly unlikely the blues would move Kyrou. I mean they just signed him to an 8 year deal.

So Kyrou, and Parayko for Hannifin, Coronato, Mang and (2) 3rds? I’ll take it.

I don’t think he is the same player as Tkachuk, but I think he’s more of a complete player than you’re alluding too. I would entertain the idea of Ehlers, but I have question marks around Nylander.

I did not know that Kyrou would’ve been Calgarys pick, that is funny.

More complete? In what way? He's a defensive liability, his offense is what makes him a good player. I would take Nylander over him in a heartbeat. Nylander is a better play driver

Considering that he just signed 8yr deal worth $65M. I think it's safe to say Kyrou is impossible or at the very least it would take far more than Calgary would want to spend to pry him out of STL.

He's not always a liability on D, and he sharply trended in the right direction the last 30-35 games. Also, Kyrou was third on the Blues and second among their forwards in takeaways last season. He was one outside the top 50 in the league in that category, and would have also been third on the Flames last season. Just for a reference, he had 12 more than Lindholm in fewer minutes. His transition work from D zone to O zone is the #1 reason the Blues led the league in rush goals. So no, he's not just a one zone player. He's probably just a young player who needed to learn.

I just don't think trading 1sts is wise decision given the Flames current situation. And Kyrou, while a very good player, doesn't move the needle enough to justify the price

That’s fair, I don’t think the flames should either
