No no no nooo Hron-ek

Created by: BruceBanner
Team: 2023-24 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 1, 2023
Published: Sep. 2, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Reverse the Hronek trade. Vancouver drafts the NYI pick at the 17 and the Van pick at 43. They don't get Hronek...what happens...

Vancouver fills up the C prospect bank adding Oliver Moore and Feliz Nilsson. They still have a chance at a playoff spot this year...Next year opens up more cap space.

Downside, they may need to still look for a different rd.

Why would Detroit trade their recent 1st round draft pick to Vancouver for Hronek, a player they just traded to Vancouver last season?

Why would Chicago then trade Moore, their recent 1st round pick; who if you saw the draft highlights; Kyle Davidson was desperately trying to trade up so he could take him even earlier than 19th overall?

Also, Detroit currently has eight d-men signed.

This proposal makes no sense on any level.

Sandin looks like he is going to be real good, but Hawks got their guy in Moore. It’s going to take more than that to convince Kyle to give him up.

If this comment section is any indication, one would think it must take a genius to figure out this is a hypothetical involving the undoing of the Hronek trade...

I get it you never trade for Hronek and the puck becomes Moore for Vancouver. I wouldn't have minded Detroit picking Moore there myself.

Exactly...this is if Hronek was never traded for...what Vancouver would have done differently.

I see your point. I didn't read your description, but now after reading it, this makes sense.
