when Boston crashes and burns

Created by: Maleskualex
Team: 2023-24 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: Sep. 5, 2023
Published: Sep. 5, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I'm sure I'm not the only one who sees Boston finally fall into the depths of the standings in the next 3 years if not sooner

they aren't exactly loaded with picks or prospects so my question is, who has positive trade value to spark a rebuild besides the obvious Pastrnak and what kind of return could he fetch?

This is my guess, feel free to criticize

(This is at the 2024 TDL/Offseason)

Nitpicking, but what player are you calling a B level prospect? Because there isn't one in that trade

Not a bad trade. Probably about accurate as you can guess, especially considering there are no comparables.

I could see McAvoy and a prospect for Pettersson.

Ullmark could get a first in the right situation. Debrusk could easily get a first.

You probably build around Pastrňák and McAvoy not trade them.

Peterka probably

He is neither a prospect or B level, so that's where my confusion is.

Jacobs will always demand that they ice a team that at minimum can get into the playoffs even as an 8 seed. Boston is still a desirable destination due to their history and being an O6 franchise. True rebuilds take nearly a decade to complete and that assumes everything goes to plan. A rebuild simply isn't going to fly in a city like Boston because fans don't have an appetite for it.

Funny how people that think a team with a pair of upper end goalies, Pasta, Marchy, Zacha, Debrusk, Mac, Lindholm, Carlo and a lot of cap space next year are just going to plummet.

Wishful thinking as opposed to common sense. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Pastrnak just signed an 8 year extension with a full NMC and he and his wife just had a daughter I don’t think he plans on waiving anytime soon or in the future either

Pastrnak probably wouldn't be on the move no matter what. They don't really make sense for a tear down rebuild considering they have 2 superstar players signed long term. If they were to rebuild, they should sell off some other core guys like DeBrusk, Ullmark and maybe Carlo for younger players and prospects to build around Pastrnak and McAvoy.

They probably be better off keeping him and set up and setup a team for when Eichel contract is up in 3 years
