Holtz has proven nothing yet. Pinto has proven he can score 20 goals. I’ll take the 2 way centre over the skilled winger. But in this scenario Holtz is the unproven one

I love this line up. The top 9 is deep. Combined goals in each of their last seasons:
L1 - 92 goals
L2 - 72 goals (using Norris' 21-22)
L3 - 62 goals
Many teams have more goals from their L1. Very few have more from their L2. Almost NONE have more from their L3.
And the 4th line... so long as they can keep pace and play physical... oooohhhh mama.....

Dang, so a future late 1st wont get it done. I think there's an extension in place for Pinto and its just waiting for the right time to file it.

its not hating on him - he is a decent bottom 6 W but 3x3m is not an attractive deal for what you get. for the yotes the bottom 9 W's are maccelli, crouse, zucker, guenther, kerfoot - he isnt taking one of those spots, last W is carcone, boyd, or obrien - maybe beats them but all are way cheaper and 1 year deals.
reality is OTT is in cap hell, needs to sign pinto, every GM knows it, kubalik is better trade option - I know OTT would rather deal joseph but they have no leverage. it isnt hating joseph just cap/roster reality.

Did you know that the Sens wouldn't trade Pinto for Chychrun and they preferred giving up their 1st round pick that was 12th OA in 2023? How much value does Hold still holtz?


Trade Kubalik then. It's a no brainer.

I mean, try to find counter arguments for this :

- Kubalik is UFA after the season. Sens won't have the cap space to re-sign him as they really need to focus on signing a better forward than him or even Tarasenko. He would walk for nothing while we could get an asset for him NOW. Joseph will COST an asset to move now and will most likely restore positive value this season and particularly with the cap going up next season

- Kubalik scored 17 of his 45 pts on the PP last season. There's TEN (10) other guys who require and need PP time before him, and that's not even counting Greig and Brannstrom.

- Over the last 2 seasons, Total Points per 60 minutes at 5v5, Joseph 1.46 and Kubalik 1.37

- Joseph is our best PK forward (history of posting Elite K metrics). He's also one of our fastest skaters and one of our best forwards defensively at ES. Kubalik wouldn't come close to any of that.


Keep Joseph, he will bounce back and show how useful he is defensively. And he could even put some decent offensive numbers. He just burnt a 3v3 league that had a lot of NHL players (Letang, Perron, Drouin, Comtois, etc)


Anyone understanding hockey would trade Kubalik instead of Joseph. Unfortunately our GM is a bit clueless for some stuff (like trading Gustavsson for Talbot for example. There's plenty of these)
