WTF does CBJ who's had issues attracting and retaining players consider trading Peeke after just extending him before he's played a second of the extension? F***ING brilliant idea to kneecap themselves.

Jackets have Boqvist, Severson, Peeke, Gudbranson Blankenburg all on the right side who are NHL level D. Jiricek is basically ready. Cuelemans and others are in the pipeline ready to take over in the future.

So ,they as a team struggling to attract and retain players trades away one who just resigned and has yet to play a second of the extension? That's a Brilliant idea to attract future players to sign/resign there . Absolutely Brilliant move by Jarmo🙄. They may trade a RD,but it won't be Severson or Peeke

So they should give them away? Nah. It's not a charity for richer franchises who couldn't be bothered to build the right side of the defenses.

Babcock is already enamored of Peeke, plus what Boltsbeathabs said. He's going nowhere.

No clue how that was your takeaway from my response. I was stating why there is a need to move RD and Peeke is one of the potential moves.

Geaudreau, Severson, Werenski, Gudbranson all have signed significant deals to be part of the team. Laine made it clear he wants to stick around. The narrative of people not wanting to stay is old. PLD already wanted out of a second team. Jones is about the only legitimate one. Josh Anderson and bobrovsky were moved both got paid way more than they were worth. Duchene always wanted to go to Nashville and was brought in solely as a rental. Atkinson wanted to stay, but it was time for leadership change.

I do agree with the thinking that Boqvist is probably going to be the one to be moved, but I don't think the recent extension is the determining factor in the trade.

As suggest above it's a bad move by CBJ, though I'm not that impressed by Peeke. Hoglander can't secure a spot with Canucks, don't know why he could with the Leafs.
Trading Brodie and his M NTC certainly is problematic.

Werenski wasn't getting what he got elsewhere. Severson IMO the same. Who else was giving Laine 8.7+ the picks required? No one so, he took the money.

Show me one time where you thought a trade was slanted in favor of Toronto and said so. You're a laffs homer every team is supposed to bow down and kiss the ring of the Superior Laffs according to you. Ohh, but wait they're not superior, superior teams win more than one playoff round every 20 years , Superior teams wins Cups atleast a couple of times in 57 years.

He's younger cheaper and a solid player I know bad numbers last year. CBJ was a complete s***show everyone had bad numbers. I will give you credit for consistency you truly believe everything should be done to accommodate the leafs🙄. Absolutely delusional.

I only comment on really bad deals. Both ways. I have and will continue to say trades are bad if they are one sided.

However let's just breakdown this conversation we are having.

The above trades are bad for TO. Brodie is light-years better than Peeke. No one can say otherwise. Literally nothing but mountains of evidence to support that fact. Hoglander is a small player who can't make it in Vancouver, he isn't the type of player TO needs and if one makes it, it'll be Robertson.

Your response is to attack me for being a homer without offering any but insults and lazy chirps against the leafs.

That is the work of a small person lashing out to make yourself feel good. It's just sad.

Well 2 of those are pretty awful, Gudbranson has one of the worst contracts in the game and Peeke was absolutely destroyed all last season. Not much to target for a contender.

Brodie >> Peeke, not even close. Who cares if he’s younger (cheaper would help given our cap constraints) - our window is open now.

Peeke is younger 2.25 million cheaper just signed. His numbers were bad but everyone had horrible numbers for CBJ last season his numbers were decent prior.
Toronto HAS TO SHED CAP!! Their 2-3 constant nagging injuries from being completely F***ed

Ok I'm picking on you🙄

Canucks easily decline. Don't have the cap space for Brodie and even if we did, we aren't giving up a young promising forward for an old rental defenceman.
