Pearson and Monahan don't get those returns

Vancouver asks for 1 more high end piece

Pass on the Winnipeg trade. That's giving premium value for a player that will never have a year like he just had again

A 1st round pick for Manahan? LOL. Drury says sure, as long as you add in the Habs 1st round pick to the deal.

First two are possible under the right circumstances, though the teams may differ. You'd need healthy and productive seasons from both players and possibly conditions around their health if they are injured past the deadline.

Pettersson is a pipe dream.
Defense isn't something we need to trade for.

You forgot to add for the first 2, the sheer amount of cocaine and alcohol that it would require to get those returns.

laugh A trash offer for Elias Pettersson, If he wants out of Vancouver he's not going to bottom feeder Montreal.

And Josh Morrissey doesn't waive for the worst team in the NHL either.

As a Ahsb fan, all those trades are heavily tilted towards Montreal's side.

HOWEVER, every single trade offer on this website is the same way.

95% of trade offers will almost ALWAYS favor - sometimes grossly - the fan's team.
If you click on a proposed team 'x' that has trades, all trades favor 'x' team.

It's not at all a "Habs thing". It's always the same bias we see on every single page.

Peace guys!

Pearson might return a 3rd if he has a slight rebound/healthy season but would be a waste of a retention slot.

Monahan will likely be the retention candidate if he's healthy and productive enough to move. We'd likely have to retain and add a later pick to return a 1st though.

EP gonna need another premium piece, honestly if it's a comfortable trade for MTL it likely isn't enough. Also, EP would quite clearly be our 1C.

We don't need to waste assets on Morrisey. One quick peak at the LHD depth would tell you that.

If you want a chance at Pettersson you have to start the offer with Dach + Reinbacher + a 1st

I'm very high on Beck I think he could be a better version of what Danault was if all pans out, that being said habs could add another first and Reinbacher and that deal still probably wont be accepted by Vancouver.

Only possible way NYR pays a 1st is from a conditional 2nd and the conditions would be that they make the cup final or win it. And that’s if Monahan is playing well enough to be in demand.

Canucks decline. 2 1sts is the start of the package, but none of those other pieces add much of any value.

That's why I said the teams may differ, performance and health, circumstances, and conditions on the picks, are all factors.
They aren't worth that today (and maybe not to those teams) and they may not be worth that tomorrow, but the possibility is there.
Monahan plays a full season and produces like a 2nd (or even 3rd) line center, he easily nets a 1st at his cap hit. Depends who else is on the market above him, a team may have a key injury, the 1st might require a certain number of games/rounds, etc.
