Two thoughts on Marchand/Lilljegren play…

1. In most cases I’d say it’s close, but probably just two guys battling for position, legs tied up, one went awkwardly into boards. But one has to consider the history of Marchand. He doesn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt. So I’d say fine him.

2. There is only one reason a team has Ryan Reaves on their roster. Do your job, Ryan.

Im honestly wondering if either Keefe is telling him not to do Reaves things or if he hurt himself.

As you dont go from doing Reaves stuff game 1-5 to quiet unless something is up

Maybe

But yea its not a great look as sure it can be fuel like we saw when WPG did that **** and than the Leafs have eaten them alive but it also may not do anything

Its still early so who knows at this point lul

Seems 10 game marks when we always complain then they go oh yea time to wake up.

I think it's pretty simple IMO. It was clearly unintentional. Not something to be suspended over. It was however a penalty, but nothing was called. Thats the issue I had with the play

With Marchand, it’s rarely unintentional. But maybe so this time.

I don't think it was clearly unintentional at all. Maybe the result of a serious injury sure, but the action, nah. He drove his stick between his legs and pushed Lily's heel forward.

idk if Grier really deserves blame here. Wilson signed him to that huge deal, and that made him nearly impossible to be traded.

Wilson and Lombardi shared the same faults. Both good talent evaluators and above average GM's who are also fantastic people and fell into the trap of overpaying "their guys" who they built around.

It's a strength in some ways, and a trap in others, to be emotionally invested in the players like fans are.
