Trades
1.
DET
  1. Askarov, Yaroslav
Additional Details:
With saros in net it seems the preds are shopping askarov(I personally wouldn’t)
NSH
  1. Berggren, Jonatan
  2. Buium, Shai [Reserve List]
Additional Details:
This trade will likely never happen and they’d hang on to cossa but I’m thinking maybe moving cossa in a separate deal and going with a husso/askarov duo next season and having Augustine in the pipeline might not be a bad idea

I’d hang on to Berggren but guessing with him getting the ahl treatment atm they might move him

Saros could screw us over and decide not to extend, then we'd be boned. No point.

that avs deal is very intriguing, nice to see something different for once. In two years colorados goaltending is going to be wide open with geo most likely pricing himself out, if annunen doesn't start progressing this would be a nice add.

Can't imagine they move askorov for that or at all really. Colorado probably says no too at this point.

I would much rather have Ritchie than Cossa at this point. Cossa hasnt really progressed well since being drafted - he played in the ECHL last season for his D+2 year. Plus COL has proven they can find undervalued goaltenders through trades at the NHL level, so if Georgiev prices himself out then they can let him walk like Grubauer and find another replacement then

I can see your thinking but I'd argue it would be easier to find a replacement for Georgie if necessary than to find the 2C they'll be hoping Ritchie can be.

I mean Lyon for a future 5th doesn't sound too bad if he doesn't get waiver claimed by us or anyone else first

NSH isn't shopping Askarov. Trotz dangled him in front of SJ and MTL to try to move into the top 5 for the draft, but he also just said in a recent interview from a few days ago, that there isn't a reason why NSH can't have both Saros and Askarov. He also said in that same interview that when you want to move up in the draft that much, you have to be willing to offer your best prospect, so he did. Neither of them bit and so it seems the door on NSH shopping Askarov has closed.

But for this trade to happen Askarov to Detroit would have to happen and that isn't going to happen.

I think NSH showed they would trade Askarov for a top prospect playing another position. I don't think the door has closed.

Not sure if they were targeting Smith, Michkov or Reinbacher, but they could use a top prospect at any position.

Keeping Ritchie is better.
As someone else stated, the Avs have proven that they can find undervalued goalies.

After hellabucyk returning to the jets after seeing the goalie market wasn’t there and signed that deal I think the same will happen. When Aaron signs I think askarov will be used as a trade chip

I don’t know what he’ll fetch cause teams are reluctant to give up big assets for goalies and although he’s very promising he’s still young and unproven . Figured a Berggren who got 15 goals as a rookie who I personally would like to keep around and not happy with him being in the ahl was a good starter and buium since we’re beyond stacked on the left d side was an ok offer but guessing by the comments I guess not lol

But can’t see anyone giving up a first round prospect for askarov either (can’t see us moving a kasper, edvinsson, danielson for him) so who knows what they’d fetch sure someone young who can come into the lineup right away

If it is still open, it is only barely. Trotz likely would only bite if he could exactly what he wants which is a blue-chip center that he can rebuild the franchise around because it is something NSH has never had. If they weren't a center I don't think NSH would do it as they already have several wing prospects who are projected for top-six time. It is the center strength NSH needs.
