    Jets decline…huge
A 1st, a 4th, and a good young D player for a 29yr old over payed 20 point LHD, with 5 more yrs on his contract, who does nothing to address our needs

Martin is interesting but the forwards are doing well right now don’t know if i wanna mess with that don’t even really want Kane to sign either and there’s been plenty of rumours about that

I don't see Boston going after Nelson for strategic reasons. He's still a great player in my book, but he's 32 and he only has one year left after this. Signing him again would be a risk due to his age and likely high cap hit. Also, despite the current standings, I don't think the Bruins are in a position to make an all-in push this year or next, so trying to win it all on his current contract would be a bit of a long-shot.

If I am Boston, I’m kicking the tires on Barzal. Fits their needs for the future. I would offer the above package with added sweeteners and see if Lou bites. More than likely, other teams offer better packages but Bruins should get younger, not older.

Lol since when are Horvat and Nelson compareable in trade values? Nelson is four years older than Horvat... and Frederic and Lysell are better assets/players than Beauvillier and Raty.

I agree - the move for the Bruins here isn't to acquire Nelson. Change this deal to Debrusk, Lysell, a 1st, and a 3rd for Barzal and it probably gets some more traction. Probably beaten out by another team though.

Nelson at 50% retained for 1.5 years absolutely gets a Horvat like return. Horvat was acquired as a rental after having a career year in a contract year. Horvat never had more than 31 goals in a season in Vancouver (he had 31 at the time of the trade but slowed down considerably after being traded). He only 3 seasons over 25 goals. Nelson has back to back 36+ goal seasons and is currently on pace for 45 this year. He’s scored over 25 goals 5 times in a season and is also a good defensive player. He was a goal scorer is a highly defensive system and still found ways to score.

If you don’t think Nelson gets a similar return to Horvat then you’re higher than a kite.

Horvat was also 5 years younger at the time he was traded... sorry Bruins aren't giving up two young players and first for a 32 year old Nelson
