Hawks easily decline. There's not enough return to take on a regressing Johansen for another year at $4M. On top of that Myers is a fringe NHL'er and the 3rd (best part of this trade from Chicago's perspective) isn't enough to move Dickinson.

I don't know why out of all the time we have had to trade girard we'd burn him at his lowest point for less than we paid for eller last year, pass on that deal easily.
Lindholm i am all in for, tanev i don't think is really needed with manson and johnson right now, there are cheaper and just as good offense for a depth D and with malinski playing so well there's no reason he shouldn't be considered a full time player now.
Too much to pay for dickinson, might as well just move johansen to 4th line or play meyers there for basically the same output. I'd be more interested in dowd for line 4, it's more his role and he's cheaper.

Hawks wouldn't move Dickinson for anything less than a 2nd. He's on pace for 40 points on the 3rd line and plays a style teams need to survive 4 rounds of playoff hockey.

1. Girard is useless, need to move him for cap space.
2. We need a defenceman like Tanev, we do not need anymore offense from the backend. Playoffs are a different beast.
3. I like Malanski, but I'm not ready to throw into a playoff run.
4. Moving Johansson is about moving his money this year and next, plus he is NOT a 4th line center.
5. Capitals are not moving Dowd, they will be in a playoff chase.

Giving away Girard, and overpaying for Dickinson is not the way to go. And when you have 3 of the 15 best players in the NHL all 28 and under making stupid trades like trading a top 4 dman for peanuts is a guaranteed way to close the window faster.
