Why in the world would COL trade a center when they need one and a 1st for a back up goalie and a 3rd pairing dman?

AZ is not taking bad cap dumps (a late 1st and 2nd arent enough) and cant see MONT trading a 1st and 2nd

And why would the Habs pay anything with 14 million in unused cap space on this roster? Even in keeping Gallagher they could still add an 8 million dollar player and be under the cap ... in this scenario anyway ...

You mean the one who has 4 goals in his last 4 games, right?

Exactly, there is no incentive from the MTL side to do this trade with such unused cap space

I dont even want Josh traded but the return would be hilarious given how much hes hated here by the chart bois!

They have no need to move cap. Gallagher will get injured and LTIRetire in 2 years or less. Hes not a problem right now maybe in 3 years?!?

Hawks decline. But Colorado never makes that trade anyway so Ryjo isn't in Montreal to begin with.

The original trade I posted which was on the previous acgm was Johansen and a 1st for Monahan and Savard.

Monahan > Johansen and cheaper and you get Savard too, who is playing like a beast this year.

They don’t need Savard who would be the 6th dman in COL and Monahan would just be RyJo 2.0 a guy who isn’t good enough a skater to play with the Avs top 6 and his production is tied to the PP where 48% of his points have come from where he would get very little if any PP1 time. COL isn’t trading a 1st for guys that aren’t going to drive play 5v5 and neither Savard or Monahan does that, throw in the current front office doesn’t trade premium assets for guys they don’t want to keep. There is a reason COL has been tied to Lindholm and not a guy like Monahan that is a bad stylistic fit.

Well that's better for CO. But regardless, Hawks wouldn't just take Ryjo for free anyway. His play last year and so far this year isn't worth his $4m cap hit. He's closer to a cap dump than an asset at this point.
