Thats what i would take though, unless youre giving us Korchinski, Moore, and even more. Canucks arent just gonna trade a top 10 player for the fun of it. You have to give to get

Nice try.
Easy pass for Canucks.
Petey is staying with the Canucks.
It’s a fake rumour.
The second trade could happen, but losing a first round pick could hurt just a little bit for the Boston Bruins.

It is what it would take, which is why it wont happen. Its fun to think about but why would the first place canucks trade a win now player and why would the rebuilding hawks trade a top 3 draft pick? Thats what I hate about these rumor boys. If you're going to start one, at least put a little bit of thought in and have it make sense first

Yeah when it comes to trade rumour those guys are bozos, on the surface Petey (like many others) to Chicago to pair with Bedard is fun but its more of an NHL 24 franchise mode move tbh

Easy pass? 1st overall pick, first rd prospect another first. I know they want to keep him but I doubt you get better offer if he wants to walk. I know there’s almost no chance it happens btw.

Pettersson isn't moving unless Bedard is involved it's as simple as that, yes would it be an overpay from Chicago? Abouslety but it will be that type of package to get a top 10 player in the leauge to move from the #2 team in the leauge Vancouver has Abouslety no reason to trade him for anything less

So the question is what would it take for Vancouver to trade our top center and one of the top scorers in the league, who is 25 and entering arguably the prime of his career, from a team who is just starting to contend? I think what you have suggested is a bit naive. But if we were to assume 1. The Canucks do move him (which wont happen) and 2. Chicago can put together the right package (bearing in mind they are probably competing with 20 other clubs), then I would say the following:

Van. Elias Pettersson
for
Chi: Connor Bedard/1st/1st

Still interested? Bedard is great and we are proud of him being from Vancouver, but he's still unproven in the grind of an 82 game season, year over year. Teams will adapt to him next year. So there needs to be compensation for a proven entity for a unproven one (in the NHL). Thats what it would take and it starts with your top center for ours. Pettersson is an RFA so no discounts and also bear in mind he would be less inclined to join a rebuilding team. He's already said he wants to win. Hope that helps.

Hard to tell Hughes, Demko, Miller... that the team is going to be worse for the next couple of years. They all want to win now.

I absolutely agree with you but given where the Hawks are in the standings and rebuild it doesn’t make sense to trade a potential # 1 overall pick in the draft, that player could end up being better then Pettersson.
