Edmonton Declines. They keep those picks and prospects and buy out Campbell in the off season. The amount retained is basically the same as the buyout would be.

hmmmm option a) retain on Campbell for 1.5M for 3 years plus lose 6 assets orrr option b) buy him out for 1.5M in the summer and keep 6 assets....

Bruins would take that, but mostly because you are undervaluing Guentzel by a lot, even on an expiring contract. He scored 40 only a couple years ago. Granted he plays with Crosby but you've gotta capitalize on that
