I dont think Seattle would do that. That’s a lot to give up for a team in seattles position and i dont think Chabot is the difference maker for them long term or that he is better than Vince Dunn. I do not watch Chabot often enough to have an informed opinion though.

Pretty simple, he's not for sale. Not even remotely close to available.
Also, Seattle has no need for Chabot, especially at the expense for Borgen who has been good.

Ottawa would ask for borgen or Dumoulin in a Chabot trade. That’s the kind of 3rd pair Dman we need. Obviously with a 1st round pick

For sure that would be the ask but I don't see a fit with Seattle.

He literally could play 2nd pair.

Oleksiak-Dunn
Chabot-Larsson
Evans-Borgen

Would be really good

Eriksson Ek is probably the least available player on the Wild roster

Hypothetically, if he were available, Ottawa adds to that deal, a lot

Oleksiak I don't think would be ideal on the top pair. Kraken have a pretty good top 4 right now, I don't see them changing it up much.

I dont see why Seattle would shake up their team at all right now. You also dont pay 1st 2nd and 3rd for a middle pair defender. There is also a possibility that the 25st is a lottery pick.

Kraken are the perfect fit for one of Chabot or Chychrun.

They could also offer ottawa exactly what they want in vets, 2 way players and players with size as well as some futures

Chabot is better than a middle pair Dman. He’d just be a better fit playing with Larsson

I understand, but Seattle would be paying all of that for someone on their middle pair. And Larsson is the ideal partner for Vince Dunn so you’d be splitting up your own top pair as well. I just dont think they are the right fit. Have a better chance getting a deal done with a d-poor team like the sharks, but obviously sharks would not pay the price you are asking.

Chabot is overpaid by about 3 million. Going to be tough to get a first back for that contract.

Disagree Provorov got a 1st and he’s a lot worse than Chabot

Wasn’t it a first for provorov retained + a prospect in a three team deal?

Yes they took cap back and the Sens would do the same to make up for the AAV.

This draft isn’t as deep as the last one

How much salary does Seattle have to shed? I think they have a lot space/ a manageable amount of space that will be deferred towards keeping tolvi beneirs wright evans & daccord. Im skeptical of Norris and Chabot as trade assets. They seem like too big of a gamble to spend a ton of assets on + Seattle seems to be in a good place with their top 4 for awhile if they choose to resign Larsson and Oleksiak

If I was a team and could acquire Norris for something like

Big salary (Pionk or Schmidt)
Lucius (good prospect but also injury concerns)
2024 1st (right now 29th)

I’d take that and run to the bank. Sens shouldn’t sell low right now. Norris will bounce back

I feel like if ottawa takes the right amount of cap back they’ll be able to get a later 1st

Definitely agree on this. He still has crazy potential, just wild he's never been able to harness it.
