Carolina wouldn't even take on that Holl contract for that price, you want Pesce back? Try starting with a 1st

Chicago doesn't want Chiarot and I doubt he waives for them.
That doesn't get Chychrun let alone adding Pinto. Also we aren't in a position to be trading a lottery pick.
I have no issues adding Elvis, not sure the value on him though.
Carolina doesn't even think about that for a second, very easy no from their side.
Toronto needs defensemen not 4th liners.
Petry isn't waiving and Blues aren't taking him on.
Montreal isn't retaining that much and no thanks to Anderson.

If Chicago moves Murphy this trade could make sense for them. Add a 2nd and a veteran D-Man with a reasonable cap hit.

If Murphy isnt moved Chicago should pass to keep the roster spot open for a young guy.

Ottawa fans are gonna flip.

All of these (except for Canadien's trade) definitely favor Detroit.

I can’t see Ottawa saying yes to that.

This was a mistake. Detroit was supposed to trade 2 firsts. Seems like I missed one.

Zero chance of Ben Chiarot waiving for Chicago.
We don't need an injury prone Jakob Chychrun at LD, Our future LD as of right now will be Walman, Edvinsson and Wallinder.
We don't need Brett Pesce either, Axel Sandin Pellikka should be up within 3 years, Seider, Pellikka and TBD No thanks on Pesce.
No need for Connor Timmins he's not an upgrade on our 3rd pairing.
Zero chance of jeff Petry waiving for St Louis, He'll only stay in the East. Plus i doubt that St Louis has any interest.
Detroit wants no part of Josh Freaking Anderson, And we sure as heck aren't giving up Jonatan Berggren for him either.
These trades are bad, The only one we accept is the Merzlinkins trade. My bad no retention. Pretty sure both GMs accept especially since Detroit wouldn't need Kekelainen to retain on Elvis.

Hard to get a read on Elvis' value, but I don't know why Detroit is looking to swap out goalies when Lyon has been doing well and Husso should be back in a few weeks.

I'd like to see the 3rd and 4th swap sides. The deal isn't far off if Detroit is actually interested, but I'd like to see Columbus at least come out ahead for moving their starter even if his contract isn't great. Depending on other offers, though, CBJ might still accept.

No chance the Hawks take on Chairot for less than that 2nd. Wings aren't getting a pick back.

Yeah we heard the same thing with DeBrincat, Funny how Sens fans said that DeBrincat to Detroit wouldn't happen without a massive overpay. Yeah that didn't end well for Ottawa.

If you want to give us a 4th liner give us zar but we'd probably rather just have a better pick to add a defenseman

None of this will happen!!

Detroit isn't paying to move players.

Carolina and Ottawa both decline.

That goalie trade would be about 1 for 1 but makes little sense for either team. At this point I'd rather keep Reimer since his contract is up at the end of the season and Merzlikins has 3 more seasons @ $5.4M per.

I'd do the Toronto trade but Toronto wouldn't.

Berggren >>>>>>>> Anderson.

Merzlikins has 3 seasons left on his contract with a cap hit of $5.4M and with similar numbers to Reimer. That is probably why the picks are on the Detroit side. Detroit has 3 goalies on their roster and it has led people to think they are going to move a goalie but I haven't heard anyone in the Wings organization say anything about it.

They don't have similar numbers, though. Reimer is averaging about .902 SV% over the last 5 seasons, an .889 this year, and has -0.683 GSAx/60 this season (-7.6 GSAx total). Elvis is around a .906 SV%, which includes his terrible 2022-23 (.876, his only sub-0.907 season on record), has a .907 SV% this year, and has a 0.047 GSAx/60 this season (1.0 total, basically exactly league average). Of 70 goalies to play 6+ games this season, Elvis sits at 36 in GSAx where Reimer is 67th (so, 4th-worst in the league).

I don't know if Detroit is remotely interested, but if they do want to do a goalie swap, it's not two similar-performing goalies with one on a bad contract. It's a legitimate NHL backup/1B on a bad (but not atrocious) contract for a sub-replacement UFA cap dump at the end of his career. Elvis provides adequate service expensively, which is still more valuable than inadequate service. It's not a huge difference, but I still think the pick balance should favor Columbus.

Past 5 seasons:

Merzlikins GAA 3.15 SV% .906

I don't know but that's pretty similar.

You don't know that for a fact, Chychrun is a Southern Florida boy from Boca Raton. You don't know that he doesn't want to go to the Panthers.

Again, Elvis gets dragged down by one god-awful year and isn't below a .907 otherwise. Reimer has been trending downward for at least a couple years now and isn't likely to regress to his career average at this point. Ignore last season (each goalie's worst of the past 5), and those numbers become:

Reimer GAA 2.84 SV% 0.908
Elvis GAA 2.94 SV% 0.913

And that's still ignoring that Elvis has been league-average this year, and Reimer has been nearly at the bottom of the league.
