Rob Blake isn't trading a cheap Spence, He'll more than likely let Matt Roy walk.

I completely disagree with that. Spence and Clarke are interchangeable (albeit one has a much higher ceiling). Roy is the only defensive D-man on the Kings right side. I think Blake is MUCH more likely to trade Spence than let Matt Roy walk, unless Roy is asking for some astronomical salary.

Matt Roy would easily get at least 6 x $5,500,000 on the open market, Yeah you're better off keeping Jordan Spence.

EDM was just named an AHL all-star so I'd be hesitant to trade him, still think he has the highest ceiling of all our guys in RFD right now, but acquiring Spence on the right side is intriguing so I'll buy into it

The LAK post is interesting. Ultimately, I'd like to see Del Mastro with the Hawks next year. KD is more likely to trade away Phillips/Kaiser imo. They've had more chances at the NHL level. Del Mastro hasn't yet and he's also been taking his time developing at each stage and he's been getting better at every level too. Vlasic/KK/Del Mastro would be a great left side in the long run.

From CHI's perspective, I say replace Del Mastro with Kaiser. I don't like the idea of moving Del Mastro at all. Especially not in a move for an undersized Dman.

It'll be interesting to see, but I think that's about the max Blake would be willing to spend. A little over 2mil increase on what he's making now.

Kopi's cap drops, the cap as a whole goes up. There's space, it just depends where Blake wants to spend his money.

I could see a RyJo to CHI in the off season for FC, big body pro great on face offs and can still score some.

Do you think the Avs will buy heavy (top 6 guy like lindholm) at the deadline this year with the uncertainty around Nichushkin/potential Landeskog return? Or do you think they go for depth pieces and keep Ritchie/their 1st, try to make a run with what they have, and then maybe go for it a little bit harder next year if this year doesn't work out?

It'll be interesting to see if Davidson is willing to give out an 8 year deal just yet. Vlasic is great and has developed well and I would want him here for 8 years, but he's been VERY calculated with all of his signings and trades. I think that's his true test. Anybody can trade Patrick Kane and draft Connor Bedard, but building a team via 2nd and 3rd contracts will be where I truly judge him. That was Bowman's issue. That, and trading every 1st round pick for like 9 straight seasons (ie: Danault, Teravainen, Hartman)

Yeah. There are going to be milestones at each stage of the rebuild and post rebuild where he is going to have to prove he can handle it. I wouldn't be surprised if he has adopted a "the rebuild never ends" mentality. Not that there isn't a point where we need to start competing, but players are inevitably going to price themselves out, and some players are going to flame out or not fit our system, and prospects are inevitably going to need to be given a chance, and other draft picks are going to need to be picked. If we stay flexible and not sell the farm every year to stay competitive, we can continuously restock and reload.

I am not trading Del Mastro, he is looking like a steal as a 4th round pick, reminds of Seabrook.

Also, not taking Johansen for less then a 2nd round pick attached.

Good question. The Avs can’t waste a monster season that MacKinnon is having. Can’t speculate about Nichushkin but I would hope he is back this season. In regards to Landeskog he is missing 2 full regular seasons and I think everybody just wants him to play again but they aren’t going to rush it so I think he shouldn’t be counted on even in the playoffs. Kovalenko is coming so I think there is a middle 6 spot. I do think they try a swing something for a legit 2c but with the caveat that it isn’t a rental move. They have some very attractive assets but I think it’s an almost given RyJo has to be moved out for space and that could be a hindrance I also think they want to keep Ritchie if at all possible but that’s just my 2 cents.

Hey,

We've got an ArmChair GM fantasy league on CapFriendly over in the forums. It's basically a 32 man fantasy hockey league with trades, draft, scoring/standings, playoffs, etc. We're looking to find a new GM for Florida. We started with the origonal rosters 2.5 years ago so rosters are much different than they were when we started. I've added the link to the team page down below as well. If you think you might be interested, shoot me a dm on twitter @wadejos1231 (twitter is required as most of our game runs on twitter). Thanks!

Yeah i doubt Blake let's him go, He'll be re-signed but would love to bring him home to Detroit if it doesn't work out and he's asking for too much.
