the leafs can just burry reaves for a 200k cap hit, Ruutta is not even close to worth the savings and not good enough to be worth it

Seems weird to bring in Huberdeau and get rid of his buddy.

I'm a fan of the guy and I'd probably do this because that contract is so bad.

I don't see why San Jose would.

Ruuttu isnt top pairing on the marlies, you'd get a 6th for him and be happy to be rid of him

Huberdeau isn't a 10MM dead cap hit. He's a 5MM dead cap hit. Lots of 50pt players make 5MM. It's easier to surround him with talent and let him find his game than to find a way to dump his contact.

Flames don't consider that. Since the new year Huberdeau has been great. Maybe not worth 10.5M but playing like he's worth 8.5M or more

why would starting a rebuild SJS trade a 2 year awful contract for the 7 years of the worst contact in NHL
TML arent trading 1st to get out from reaves - its a bad contract but not that bad
AZ doesnt want duclair again he'd be 4th line W
