Leafs pass wouldn’t take myers half retained for future considerations, guys not bad on anything but it literally eats up all our cap and he doesn’t move the needle, you guys are stuck with myers

All In on what exactly? These trades do not help us one bit. Brodie hasn't been great..would rather Myers right now. Kuzy isn't playing great compared to last year but is worth at least a 2nd at very minimum. And zegras is not worth 4 1st rounders. Lol

Canucks aren't going to mortgage their future for a player who most likely won't fit their system, if we are going to trade those players we should only trade them for superstars like when Michael was available, zebras is not that calibre so id rather just keep those picks and prospects.

Zegras is worth nowhere near that much

Canucks aren’t bailing the Leafs out of Kampf’s contract and we aren’t playing 5 LHDs

Leafs would probably take this just to get out of Kampf’s contract. Canucks have no interest in bailing them out of it

IF we had Trevor Zegras on the market, and I don't believe for a minute that we do, I would accept that offer as the Anaheim GM.

To be honest, the issue is whether I'd accept it without the 2025 first. If we HAD to trade Trevor, I probably would.

I know that, but it would be a great deal for Anaheim if it did.

Kämpf is not even that bad, Myers at 6 mil is very bad, if that is what you want you’re sending a 4th our way or at most a 3rd

Kampf provides little to no offense and has been bad defensively this year. If he was playing how he did last year it would be fine, but he’s been bad this year

Expiring Myers at 6M > Kampf at 4x2.4M

Myers has been okay this season. Kampf has been straight up bad. Too much money/term for what he brings

It’s 2.4 with the cap set to increase significantly over the next few years, he isn’t awful & has been good lately imo especially since Reaves has been exiled from the line-up, Myers is decent but at 6 mil even if it’s expiring for a team that is in a cap crunch, that isn’t a smart option, if he was retained i can see it as Brad does like size, but not flat out for 6

Kampf provides a ton of defence he plays pk1 and he’s scored more then I thought he would this season I have no regrets with that signing sure it’s 400k rich for my taste but whatever, he isn’t going anywhere we gave him a MNTC for a reason we want to keep him

Bringing in Kampf would make it a lot more difficult to re-sign someone like Joshua or Lafferty that has played extremely well for us this season, or a different free agent we can get at a similar price who would be better. Maybe if he was retained the Canucks would have interest, but not at 2.4

There is a 4 mil cap increase also the Leafs wouldn’t want Myers unless there was likely double retention & Kämpf wouldn’t be going anywhere

8 points in 44 games is more than you expected?

And he’s been one of the Leafs worst players this season. Among all Leafs he ranks

3rd worst GF% (36.25%)
3rd worst CF% (47.03%)
3rd worst xGF% (39.44%)
3rd worst GF/60 (1.7)
3rd worst GA/60 (2.98)
4th worst xGF/60 (2.1)
2nd worst xGA/60 (3.23)

Canucks are gonna have roughly 34-35M in cap space as it stands. Pettersson and Hronek will take up about half that. That leaves ~17M for 1 top 6 forward, 1 top 4 dman, a backup goalie, 1-2 more NHL dmen, and 2-3 more NHL forwards minimum. Adding Kampf who makes 2.4M makes no sense when we have Aman who can be a fine 4C for 825K
