Cant see it either. Canucks dont like rentals. They would rather pay more for players they can keep longer term. Canucks need a center though and one that doesn't break the bank, which is a tough ask. Wennberg? Roslovic? Stephenson? Novak? I'm guessing Novak might be interesting, but more than likely Allvin will pull off something a bit better.

That's not exactly true, he said he doesn't think the Canucks have an interest. Here is his exact quote:

"I was just told... right now I don't think the Canucks are on the Monahan train, I don't think he's a player that they're targeting,"

He was told by an his source, that the source doesn't think the Canucks are in on Monahan, that is not the same as the Canucks having no interest in Monahan, it doesn't even say that the source knows they have no interest, which suggests that the source isn't even part of the Canucks management team cause anyone in the management team would know whether or not they had interest. That's no different than Freidman saying he thinks the Canucks have spoken to the Habs about Monahan, it's all just speculation
